Good blitz should disrupt things before they get downfield. Hawkins over the top can help. One way a blitz can help even if it doesn’t get home for the sack is an errant throw that becomes a pick. And do we really have Davis on their fastest WR one on one downfield, or is that gonzo?
That's exactly what I'm trying to say.. we end up blitzing and the hope is we don't end up leaving him one on one with their fastest guy.. seems gonzo doesn't just line-up on one guy he moves all over.

I think the refs will largely stay out of this one.
The point spread's normal, over/under is normal, there's no big national narrative pumping the Chargers up.
Hope so. Have borderline nightmares about how dramatically the officiating flipped in the Bills game when the Pats went up 21-0.

The two things that scare me the most going into the playoffs (and specific to the upcoming Divisional round game): the defense and the refs. One or both will be the biggest reasons why if the Patriots end up being one and done. I trust McDaniels/Maye/the offense to hold up their end of the bargain.
Blaming a team’s fortunes on the refs would seem to be the refuge of loser mentality, but this year has had us see some truly horrible, unacceptable refereeing, and it has happened to all teams.

The NFL needs to fix this.

Boutte being tackled before the ball was even in the picture and ending up concussed, and not drawing a flag, is just one notable example.

Can we talk about Mumford showing up here has seemed to have made all the difference?
Yeah, we have some “diamonds in the rough” at the tackle position. Lowe & Munford have been godsends, considering the scarcity of backup quality linemen across the league. Wtf is up with Onwenu though? Lack of effort yesterday…

Look what happened to the Panthers yesterday.

Chargers are a quality team. Very good pass defense and respectable run D. They should be a better offensive team but aren't.
Agreed. Should be plenty of motivation from that drubbing last season that they gave us.

Let's hope Jonathan Jones Jr: Carlton Davis don't let Ladd go off.

Yeah.. I saw someone mention that earlier. If that is the case, Diggs, Henry and Chism will have a field day. That will also open up plenty for Williams over the top provided that the Line can buy Maye the time he needs. I don't think they've had a real test since the Browns game in thar respect. But, having played Garrett and the Browns, I think that it will help Will Campbell.

Them playing zone so much should also help the Pats run game since it will have guys spread out more and allow for the Pats blockers to open up holes more easily.
Boutte is coming along really well in zone . I saw your a few of his routes where he sits and allows maye a easy completion.

Maye, Henry, diggs and Chism should be a handful and ocassional deep throws to Williams.

Boutte and pop missed couple fo deep throws i.w. couldn't run as fast. I think that's where we are missing hollins . He can make up that speed with his height and go for jump balls. Hopefully we get him back for afc championship.

he should be no where near ladd twin...

Denver at 3 kills any and all credibility - I stopped there
Yup.
I’ve said it before and will again, Denver seems ripe for a 1 and done to me.
The Rams at 1 is even more egregious. They have been leaking oil and have not looked great the last month.

I'm off today and watched the 3 main morning shows on ESPN and NFLN.

Boy, they covered all the upcoming games except for Patriots-Chargers and Packers-Bears.

I'd say they feel pretty certain none of those 4 teams will be playing in the AFCCG.

The problem with Denver is the same one it's ALWAYS been. Playing IN Denver in altitude. Along with games in Miami in September, for an indoor or northern team, Denver has the most UNFAIR home advantage in sports

We have to trust Marcus there: that TE O Gadsden is like a WR and Quentin Johnston can be dangerous: Gonzo needs to check him.
Jones should be on mcconkey . Not that big of height advantage and gonzo on Allen while safety help and davis on johnston.

There might be few deep passes but I expect hawkins to intercept one or two .

This would be the best way and if we pressure Herbert quick the. His options might be limited to Allen or mcconkey .
