I do still hope to see a bit of jennings. Always been a fan and he helps alot in the run game. But if Landry is closer to 100% now we need him in pass rush
I always loved Jennings guy has a relentless motor and physical play style. I wouldn't anticipate Landry being healthy because he's a veteran and I'm sure scar tissue from previous injuries are likely effecting him. Jennings is providing more as a edge presence. I'd rotate he and Landry to keep Landry fresher.

We have to trust Marcus there: that TE O Gadsden is like a WR and Quentin Johnston can be dangerous: Gonzo needs to check him.
TE have killed us.. we are probably a stuck with C Davis on Johnston, Gonzo's on McConkey.. unless you want Automatic Austin...

We need another WR not named Stefon Diggs to step up. Boutte have been very quiet of late: need more for our secondary WR's especially with Barefoot being out.
Idk what's up with Boutte.. maybe he's playing through something.. Chism have been more impressive lately..

Pop was open a couple of times one on a wheel route when Maye got flushed: Pop would have ran for 50 after the catch. Hopefully he steps up if Boutte doesn't also the Chismeister have been Clutch.

These chargers fans have forgotten who the boss is over this short vacation. Time to set them straight.
I remember chargers fans from the lady T years, for a team that hadn't won anything it was shocking how entitled and obnoxious they were

think the mid-season hamstring issue is slowing him down?

Herbert is an excellent QB. He is tough and has been playing thru that hand injury which now will have 2 weeks to heal. He is not afraid to scramble. Cannot just play man the entire game.
Their oline is hurt but can the Pats weak pass rush take advantage? Pats need to come up with a creative game plan to generate pressure. Disguised blitzes. Corner blitzing etc.
This is the time of year when coaching makes a huge difference. Can the Patriots D coaches create a good gameplan and also adjust during the game? We know the offense will be prepared. I have questions about D coaches. But this is Vrabel's chance to put his imprint on things as a former DC.

He was running wide open down the field by the time Drake saw him was too late.. pop i expect to be involved much more this game..

Folks look at the last few weeks of NE's DL performance and consider the pass rush to be "weak", and while it's not really a force, I think it's easy to forget how much the lack of Milton Williams impacts things. That left Barmore on an island to be game-planned against. Add Milton Williams back in, and it creates a lot of interior pressure, which then frees up the guys on the edges quite a bit more. They've also been missing Harold Landry for several games now - adding him back in will help too.

Specifically against LAC, that team is already weak at tackle, so they're already needing to focus on helping out there. They will have a hard time trying to add help in the middle to stop Williams & Barmore.

I think Landry may have been able to play the last few games and they may have rested him hoping he returns to early season form where he was a top pass rusher in this league. They knew they could survive and win without him at his banged up state, but a healthy Landry could be invaluable in the playoffs especially against the Chargers without their starting tackles.

I hate 8pm Sunday. Can't hang out with my friends and family.

they are notorious for lingering, much like any leg injury
Agreed. Especially for a WR. Boutte was on pace for close to 1,000 yards prior to the injury.

Pats haven’t played anyone… oh except when they beat the Bills, a playoff team, forget that one though… oh and when they destroyed the Panthers, another playoff team, forget that one… and the Bucs and Ravens, two fringe playoff teams, forget those too I guess… and generally beat the “bad” teams in dominating fashion…

I guess forget about all that - because the other playoff teams ONLY played great teams all season, right? Their strength of schedule is probably, like, .700. What’s that? NE’s was .391 and Denver was barely better at .422, and Buffalo, Jacksonville, all Los Angeles had SOS around like .470? Hmmmmm…
The Pats SOS changed throughout the year. I believe the Bucs were 6-2 when we beat them.

Also, the fact that the Pats went 14-3 makes the opponents records worse.

Ben Brown's been playing the last several weeks in place of Wilson. Wonder how much of that is Brown's improvement in the run game.
Wilson being concussed has given Brown the playing time. Brown has looked okay on the field, don’t see lapses or sacks resulting. I’ve been wondering if Wilson might have trouble getting back on the field if Brown has improved enough to deserve the playing time.

I've been thinking about that as well. In general I think Brown was equal to Wilson as a pass protector but a worse run blocker. However, Brown's also more experienced and less likely to make mental mistakes. With more reps, Brown seems to have improved his run game. So I can see the argument for leaving Brown in.
