Update: The Steelers are currently beating the Bengals 27-7 at halftime, I'm going to go ahead and put the Bengals at 9-5

Here what I believe are some of the more simply explained scenarios, of course this can get a lot crazier, but so far this is what we're looking at....

Just did on own, so feel free to correct.

Patriots clinch the #1 seed with....
-2 wins + 1 Denver loss + 1 Chiefs loss

Patriots clinch at least the #2 seed with... *Control Destiny*
-2 wins
or
-1 win + 1 Colts loss + 1 Bengals loss
or
-1 win (vs Bills) + 1 Colts loss + 3 Ravens wins
or
-0 wins + 1 Ravens Loss + 2 Bengal losses + 2 Colts losses + 2 Dolphins losses

Patriots clinch at least the AFC East with... *Control Destiny*
1 win
or
1 Dolphins loss

Patriots clinch at least the #6 seed with... *Control Destiny*
-1 win
or
-1 Ravens loss

If the Patriots clinch AFC East but not a bye-week...
#3 seed: Patriots finish 1 game better than Colts
#4 seed: Patriots finish tied (or worse) record-wise with Colts

Patriots can be eliminated from the playoffs with...
-0 wins + 2 Dolphins wins and 3 Ravens wins

Dolphins will win both, I'm HOPING we win both. BUT, I think we lose to the Ravens, and then it's a nail biter vs the Bills. We really need BOTH Dobson AND Thompkins to have a chance vs Baltimore. If neither are ready the next 2 games, I can easily see us finishing at 10-6, and out of the playoffs.

Bengals need to lose two because I don't see our Pats going into Baltimore and wining, the ravens will have a must win because they will lose tomorrow night. And the bengals and ravens play one more time.

In saying that I don't think the placement in the playoffs matter much, I don't see the Pats going to the SB but I can tell you all my buddies who are all Denver fans don't want to play the pats again with or without gronk no matter where it is.

the pats have a real good shot at the number 2 seed and I think they will get it. but I see no hope for the #1 seed if Denver loss one more KC would have the number one seed they need both KC and Denver to lose and they have to win out

Right now I am focused on tonights game...Steelers need to help us out. If that happens then we are still in the drivers seat for a bye. The # 2 seed is probably the best we can hope for. I don't think the Broncos lose again this season, but I have been wrong before so who knows......

If the broncos lose again and chiefs don't, the chiefs are the #1 seed. So we need a Cincy loss tonight, win out, broncos loss and a chiefs loss. That will never happen IMO.
