Joe Judge may call plays for Patriots after moving ‘past’ Giants firing
Seven months later, the surprisingly fired former Giants head coach Joe Judge is in line to coach quarterbacks and possibly call plays for the New England Patriots.nypost.com
For some it's impossible to separate the two. It's a lack of football knowledge. So guys that suck as head coaches are just terrible coaches now?
Shady?LMAO ... Shady?
Its not a lack of football knowledge. It is very deliberate and it is very much an anti-Patriot agenda. For some it's impossible to separate the two. It's a lack of football knowledge.
You're not seriously comparing Bill's experience with this:I thought he was an OK Special Teams Coordinator. But I get that some didn't think so. This guy was a disgrace though...

Yes I am absolutely comparing Special Teams coaching experience. You're not seriously comparing Bill's experience with this:
As a coach: Career history
- Mississippi State (2005–2007)
Graduate assistant- Birmingham–Southern (2008)
Linebackers coach / special teams coordinator- Alabama (2009–2011)
Special teams assistant- New England Patriots (2012?2014)
Special teams assistant- New England Patriots (2015?2018)
Special teams coordinator- New England Patriots (2019)
Special teams coordinator / wide receivers coach- New York Giants (2020?2021)
Head coach- New England Patriots (2022?present)
Offensive assistant
Or one could say that tuition has been paid for both Matt and Joe and they now know what to do/what not to do. Let them learn their lessons elsewhere. It seems to have benefited Josh. This organization brought back two proven failures at the head coach position. Seems to be giving THEM carte blanche to orchestrate and run a viable 2022 NFL offense..and we're supposed to expect outstanding results? Must be the end times...nothing makes sense anymore.
What does being an OK ST coordinator (I agree) have to do w/ being a QB coach?Yes I am absolutely comparing Special Teams coaching experience.

Sometimes coaches transition to other coaching positions and are still successful. What does being an OK ST coordinator (I agree) have to do w/ being a QB coach?
Sure. However, there's a record of Judge transitioning:Sometimes coaches transition to other coaching positions and are still successful.
One position he never held was GM. It's easy to blame him for all the bad things that happened with the Giants. We shall see how he does this year helping Mac.Sure. However, there's a record of Judge transitioning:
1. 2019 WRs coach: not very successful.
2. 2020-2021 HC working w/ QB Jones: a disaster.
I watched several videos of Judge's media conferences while he was Giants HC. The dude is weird asF (aight?).
Again, maybe this guy becomes the next QB whisperer. I have my doubts.

Maybe, but it seems Judge is the unluckiest coach in history. Nothing but excuses about the performance of the groups he coached. Never his fault at all. It was always somebody or something else happening that caused poor performances.I feel like I point this out every time it's brought up (so apologies for the broken record, it just peeves me): It's hard to look at the WR's in 2019 and conclude that it was due to coaching. Basically everyone that year played how you'd expect them to play, there was just a revolving door at the position for a crazy variety of reasons. That's not to say that Judge should get a ton of love for it, like it's some kind of feather in his cap, but outside of Edelman he had either rookies (one of which was undrafted, the other never did much with any other coach either), or head cases that got dumped. Combine that with OL issues all year, and I can't think of a coach who would have succeeded there.

Agree that 2019 was a weird series of events when it came to that WR group. But then there's the convo about one of the WRs saying Judge didn't know what he was doing (rumored to be JE11). So who the hell knows.Fair, I certainly don't agree with any excuses for his overall tenure with the Giants. That was an objective failure on every level. And I understand completely the skepticism about him coaching QBs. I think Mac is a better Jones than Daniel, but the fact is DJ didn't get better over Judge's stint. So at worst, Judge is not good at coaching QBs, and at best he wasn't really involved in that process so there's no real experience there. Truth is probably somewhere in between that.
I just think the 2019 WR conversation is often framed too black and white.
