BB has been working on the nickel as the base defense, and on blurring the lines between CB and safety, since 2010. He actually said as much back in 2010.

Even Rodney and Ty Law would bounce back and forth between S and CB during a game/series.

You need some smart, tough guys to pull that off.

As usual, Pats D getting stronger when it counts. Plus a very physical offense. If they can stay healthy, I see the Pats as THE favorites to win it all. Still a long way to go and **** happens, but I'm feeling good about this team.

Here’s the thing.
When it gets to the post season the ride in Brady’s arm. So if the defense can hold up it’s end if the bargain, we should be the favorites. Add in the best running game we have had in years and put pressure on defenses to worry about that more and Brady carves them up even further.
