Why do teams continually build good leads against the Chefs, only to collapse in the 4th Quarter? The Chefs don’t do anything different in the 4th quarter as they did in the 1st quarter.

NO showing how easy defending GB is.

Their roster was average and they overachieved the last two years. Even if they recover from this with a winning record, they will fall short again in the playoffs.

Defenses get tired against the speed. Simple as that.

Looks like the Rams made a tweak to their uniforms to make it look like their retro uniforms everyone wanted back.

To that point, how in the hell do you let those 2 go for 273 yards? Particularly Hill. Decide HE WON'T BEAT YOU whatever else happens. ffs
When you play the Chiefs, you risk disaster every single time you call a man defense. No matter how much you hear people rave about any other WR in the game, Hill is the best WR in the league today. He's uncoverable one-on-one. So you have to devote your resources there, and it keeps Kelce in positions where he has the advantage, unless the opponent has a truly exceptional cover player at LB (like the Bucs with David).

We'll see if it's a fluke, but Winston's fixing his previously horrible vision might be helping.

Yea. You just have to make sure he doesn’t beat you. I don’t care if you put three guys on him and Mahomes passes for 500 yards to other guys. Go in to the game knowing he won’t beat you. Christ

Hill can single handily break open a game. You give up literally anything else if it means he’s shut down. Which is not THAT hard to do. But teams are just so dumb.

I think it's been a worthwhile week one:

  • It reminded people across the country that just evaluating based on honkish bias is a very bad method of determining both team quality and game outcomes.
  • It gave Patriots fans hope that they've found a viable QB to build around moving forward.
  • It saw the Bills lose a home game that they should have won.
  • It saw the Packers get the everloving **** beat out of them.
  • It saw the Saints play well enough that there should be no way the Patriots underestimate them the way so many here have been doing.
  • It saw both the Colts and Titans suffer losses, which means that the Patriots didn't lose ground to either of them in any battler for a WC spot.
  • It reminded us all that Minnesota is going to Minnesota.
  • We got to see Sam Darnold get some measure of revenge against his former team.
  • We got to see Teddy Bridgewater remind us that "functional, game manager sort of QB" is still better than "great potential, but sucks right now".
  • We got to see JAG play well (for those here who still care), but also got to see Shanahan have to sweat out a game against the Lions.

There was obviously more, but that's a pretty solid start, IMO.

Can't wait until Fields and Lance are confirmed busts.

Lance you won’t know for a while. It’s absolutely stupid to even toy with having him start games this year.

Stupid to start Fields too with the **** OL that the Bears have and the ****ty play-calling by Nagy. Let Dalton be sacrificed on the altar until Bears retool their OL.

Stafford is going to make the Rams a load to handle.

It remains to be seen, but Payton is a much better coach than Arians. After watching Arians the past year or so it's apparent he does nothing and lets his assistants do all the coaching.

They're gashing a damn good dl early...

I understand why defenses collapse against the Chiefs offense. I don't understand why offenses choke/collapse against the Chiefs defense or why their special teams always gags too. Probably same deal as playing at Gillette all those years.

Old myopia/astigmatism JW would've had at least 1 INT regardless of coach, imho. That being said, Taysom played pretty well in Brees's absence last year, so there's something to be said about the coaching.
