Very risky for the Dolts or at best very expensive. Gardner has not been a premier shut down CB since 2023, but a worst he's above average. And who knows, getting out of that hell hole may cause a rebirth for him
Good deal for the Jets, even though those picks are likely going to be in the mid to late 20's. Seattle has a very sneaky good team in the NFC. Picks in that area are usually lumped into a group from about 14-45 of similar athletic ability. Though this year will be a deep draft and it "should" bring a good player to them.
I'm guess their embattled HC got a promise of at least 2 more years to turn that **** show around since they'll likely have a rookie QB and will have a tough time signing any of their FA's
He’s still a good corner but not elite. Might just be a motivation thing but that’s a good deal for the Jets considering they’re going nowhere. They’ll just be able to draft 2 extra busts now.Garner has been living off reputation for the last two years. He hasn't been nearly as good as his rep. The Jets made a steal.
They are putting all their eggs in the "Johnathan Taylor stays healthy" basket when he plays a position with the highest likelihood of getting hurt. If he goes down they put more on Daniel Jones and they're toast.BTW, the Colts better hope that Taylor holds up. They are betting that Daniel Jones is for real and this offense is still great for the next few years. I'm not convinced of it. Taylor has been injury prone. Elite when he is healthy, but he has missed at least three games a season the last three seasons (not counting this one). Two of those seasons he missed six or more games.
The Jets have been in an excellent position to rebuild for the past 15 years. The Jets are in an excellent position to rebuild. They are in the running for the first overall pick, have strong current and future draft capital above and beyond their first pick, and have tons of future cap space.
...But somehow they'll find a way to still suck.
Taylor is the center piece of that team and since he's a RB it's a small window so in that logic it makes sense to go all in when he's healthy, things are going your way, and the AFC seems wide open.BTW, the Colts better hope that Taylor holds up. It is rinse and repeat. They will acquire high first round picks and hit on about 50% of them but in the 50% they miss on there is always a quarterback. They'll trade the guys they hit on for more picks to draft another bust at QB and just repeat the process till the end of time. The Jets are in an excellent position to rebuild. Not for two first rounders….too muchWe should be this aggressive
Obviously not for Sauce because we have Gonzo and he's better but I would have been happy to over spend for an edge rusher of similar skill and contract. Not for two first rounders….too much
more than likely late first roundersSurprised that indy was willing to give up 2 first..
I wonder if you need to be #1 this year. From what I hear. while this WILL be a deep QB draft this year, all of the top guys seem to be having rather inconsistent years, so a true #1 guy hasn't emerged, and some might go back for another lucrative year in college. So, a top 4 or 5 pick might get you the QB you need. We did fine with the 3rd QB on a list of 6 first round QB's in 2024. In fact, none of the teams who picked a QB in that draft is really unhappy with their pick so far. We hit the lottery of course, but that's what can happen. The Jete will package picks to move up for a quarterback. I suspect that's their contingency plan in case they don't end up with the No. 1 pick outright.
Yes a pretty good chance.any chance this is an over reaction by the colts? despite winning 7 games the defense has given up 400 + yards three times this season...
They gave up two picks... so... hrmmm... Twice as Bad?I am very disappointed nobody mentioned that the Colts actually Trent Richardson'd for a second time.
Impressive.
