OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I’ll bet you anything Brady is attempting to repair the relationship right now.

Arians probably has one year left, and this may be the last run.
AB might never play again if he’s released.
This might be Brady’s last legitimate run (probably not.)

The gravity of that will be a factor. Releasing a player in the midst of a title defense, after everything they’ve put into it…I suspect this isn’t going down easy.

AB hasn't been released yet. I'm guessing Tom stepped in and said pump the brakes to Bruce.

So the clock starts ticking on recovery. Nowadays is being back in 8 months for training camp after this surgery reasonable?

They're coming back a bit faster today, but the struggles of guys like OBJ make me think that the shorter times are still exceptions.

Tom said in his presser after the game that AB was no longer going to be with the Bucs. I don't know that he would of said that but it's the smart thing to do to have players talk to him and ice him and maybe in a few weeks you need him. Of course he has to be willing to do that. He may straight up want to be released. The problem is always going to be the press. They push and push until they get a narrative and to them this is unacceptable.

Do you guys really think AB comes back?

No, but it’s possible. The team should suspend him.

By the way, why is Jalen Ramsey not released yet? He punched a teammate.

Players are usually on a side and management is on another. If the players collectively want to keep him, this issue is more complex. The team should buy itself some time.

I don't think so either but I think the delay and talks with the league show they want to ice him with the option. I don't know why people think the 'moral high ground' is worth a championship. SO LONG as his teammates don't think he's a cancer you could bring him back if Evans goes down or if you need to or you could simply say you did the 'right thing' and pack up the season.

Very much doubt it

the story about AB being hurt broke. Now they’ll keep him on the roster, pay what left of his deal and be done with it

I doubt Arians would do it and have to deal with the media and it's a risk if he goes crazy again in the playoffs. It's a shame Godwin went down.

well he better put his big boy pants on **** outta here I guarantee you Brady/Evans want him back

Alot of this is not Rodgers himself (except the fact he can win big games) but the media depiction of him. What they do works and he's very good at it. It works until he needs to lift his team on his shoulders but maybe he won't have to with that defense. The fact that he's made out to be a golden god when he can't even make the SB is what creates the anger the same way that the ridiculous coverage Brady gets does the same.
Wonder how Brees and Saints fan feel in comparison. I don't know how he did not win at least 1 MVP with all the stats he produced.

Especially when you factor in how amazing he looked last two weeks

Exactly like why do you care he quite I guarantee the players know they need him like you said what if Evans goes down it’s bad enough dude looked 70% out there. Ramsey/Alexander can possibly erase Evans than double Gronk are they supposed to count on Grayson to win matchups

It won't be the first time Arians loses face. He already said ab would never be signed then ab was signed. Brady knows the window is short. Ignore the media and league and hold onto ab. Gronk, Evans, Howard, and ab will be tough to defend in the playoffs

That's right, good defenses will deal with Gronk and Evans pretty easily between the 20s and flood the middle of the field with some additional stunts or whatever on 3rd down. They need a guy that can win inside and once they reach the redzone if the defense wants to use a combination of 4 guys on Gronk and Evans then that helps TB.

Is AB going to go give them a better chance to win games? If the answer is “probably” then they shouldn’t release him...they should keep the option of a return open. Unless, of course, there’s going to be a locker room mutiny and he really is a huge cancer that will cause division. My guess is players want to win a championship above all. Everyone knows AB gets a double standard, but that’s life.

You think the Packers would have a cut a practice squad player who misled the media about his vax status, caused a big story, and then ranted about being a victim? I sure do. There's really no such as morality here…it’s about the player’s value and whether or not the team can stand it. And in January, the defending champions down one star receiver, should make sure they can’t handle it before doing anything drastic. If Arians will lose face, it’s 100% his fault for blabbering to the press about what he’s going to do before he does it. I’m not siding with AB, but this is why you keep things like this in house.

This is professional football, and it’s a multi-billion dollar industry. All these asswipe talking heads would be doing cartwheels if their favorite team scooped up AB after all of this. Had AB simply turned his ankle, it’s the same effect as walking out on the team, strictly speaking from an Xs and Os/roster standpoint. The “reliability” angle is overblown.

Just a theory: I highly doubt Brady knew about the situation when he said AB is no longer with the team, and he was in a crappy position there.

AB is not playing the rest of the year for the Bucs. They may keep him on the team for contractual reasons, but after walking out on the team when they were down by 14, he doesn't belong on the same field w/ them. I've been an AB supporter the entire time but he f*cked up on the field.

Brady has gone to the playoffs with less than Gronk, Evans, Perriman, Brate, and Johnson, plus Rojo, Vaughn, Bell and hopefully Lenny.

I don't know why people think the 'moral high ground' is worth a championship.

In pro sports around the world, Winner and Loser are the only moral grounds. I wouldn’t want to watch AB if he got a DUI and killed someone, or if I thought he actually was a sexual predator. But diva crap? It’s actually more entertaining as fan. I could give two craps about how much respect AB has for a 70 year old on the sidelines.

Losing with or without the moral high-ground brings you to the same place in the end: criticism, regret, and failure.

Grayson is the guy who might emerge.
