OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

He said last week he doesn't attend offensive meetings. Maybe he's smarter than he looks with the hands off motivational approach.
He's the delegator-in-Chief. Lmao

That would be funny but this game is in a dome so it won't matter. Would love to hear a breakdown but I don't think BB confused Brady.

He didn’t Brady was missing throws and WR were dropping passes

That fan is pretty smooth and got quite the haul after he did his interview the next day. A round of golf with Brady? lol. It's a nice try!

Nick Wright shouldn't even have a job. It's amazing how a few of these guys have a job simply by playing the Brady hate card. KC may still win the division. Does anyone trust the Raiders? I have a feeling we will beat the Chargers next week and KC will obliterate the Giants.
The main problem for the Raiduhs is that I put a 25 year curse on them in 2001. They can't win until 2026.

Yeah. BB didn't do squat to Brady. But I think the circumstances of that game and the moment might have gotten to Tom a bit.

I think he's glad that game is done. A game like that one will never happen again. Unless the Pats meet the Bucs in LA in February and that's unlikely.

Mahomes hero ball backyard football style of play wasn't sustainable. Frankly, I'm surprised it took that long for it to catch up to him.

He's going to have to take a step back and like a rookie learn to play within a system. With all Mahomes bad habits, Herbert and Burrow are probably ahead of him in terms of fundamentals.
I didn't think Mahomes would last this long either but he lasted long enough to sign that monster deal. That helps the Pats and the rest of the AFC.

I also thought that Lamar Jackson would have the same problem but he's so evasive as a runner that nobody gets a clean hit on him. It would take a rare set of circumstances for that to happen.

It was a pretty bad week for the running QBs in general. Most of them lost their games.

They really need to change the QB rating. Geno Smith was bad and the reason the hawks lost yesterday's game but had a strong rating of 94.3.

In the 2nd last series, they were in field goal range and gets sacked 11 yards and the 50+ field goal missed. In the last series, incomplete, sack, sack, incomplete. The sacks were the reason Geno lost the game but it doesn't get reflected in the QB ratings.

It's really a garbage measurement that brings up crappy QBs and punishes QBs like Brady who moves within the pocket and losses points for getting rid of the ball to avoid sacks.

If ball is held and 10 yard sack is taken, no points deducted from their rating. Throw the ball away and loss 0 yards, that's a deduction.

Is QBR any better? All these stats are imperfect. Which is the best one out there? All the top QBs are top 10 in the rating. Maybe a couple snuck in (Winston, Wentz).

He literally says that every week about every injured player. His act is better than Bill's who doesn't say anything. BA is always blabbing but doesn't say anything. Press loves him. Lmao
BA is the coach who says too much vs BB the coach who says too little. They are playing mind games but doing it the opposite way. Didn't like BA at first but he's grown on me.

Been looking at a few forums after enjoying chiefskingdom this morning. The Saints forum is pretty decent except for the fact that they seriously believe Brees is the best ever. They aren'tjoking or being fanatics and I can't understand it. He's not even top 3 of his era. Manning is definitely ahead of him and I would put Rodgers ahead too. He may be interchangeable with Rodgers depending on who you think is he bigger playoff choker but Brees as the GOAT? For what? Slants and garbage time yards? Man..
Rodgers is definitely ahead of Brees. Brees played most of his games in the dome or the warm weather south. Brees also had 5 years or so where his team had really bad defenses and he was stat padding in shootouts. There were a couple years where Saints were often down like 20 points or so in the 2nd half, and Brees was always making a furious comeback to fall short but he'd have 3,4 or5 td and 300+ yards.

It seems so. But it isn't as widely used. It takes into account the game situation and sacks I believe. As 1960pats pointed out, a lot of running QBs had a bad weekend so their QBR is probably not good. I'll have to check it out.

I watched his interview with Cowherd and this is what I got from him:

1. He's a straight shooter. He'll call out players for slacking and praise them if they're balling. I've heard dozens of players say they prefer a straight shooter coach instead of ones that play mind games.
2. He's a tough coach that believes in playing tough football. He's aggressive but is also flexible. If he believes someone has a better idea that works he'll go with it.
3. He's a delegator. Trusts his staff and empowers them. All good traits of a good manager.
4. He obviously read the One Minute Manager a long time ago and follows it religiously.
5. He demands balance in his staff and players lives. Family comes first for him. That's good. Doesn't believe in the "no days off" nonsense.

It take context for every play or at least they try to.

you get more point if you throw a 25 yds pass than if you throw a 4 yds screen and the receiver break a tackle and run for 21 yds. Those two plays count the same in the rating for example. But it’s quite a black box and hard to know what they take in consideration.

for example:

Brady : 20/36 211 yds 55.6 % Comp 4 TD 93.1 QBR (1st in NFL) 109.8 rating

Mac: 24/36 307 yds 66.7 % Comp 2 TD 68.4 QBR (8th in NFL) 111.7 rating

He does some good things for sure and it's a different approach in some ways than we are used to here, although I do think Bill delegates things nicely. What can you say he's 6-1 and won it all last year so it's the 'system'.

How dare you! It's ALL Leftwich.

ANY/A

In fairness though, Keyshawn is no more ludicrous than the hundreds of pundits over the years who pumped up McDaniels and Weiss.

You would think after 20+ years if the GOAT they would learn but nope. I mean Leftwich? Really? Even Kellerman was smirking at them.
Well between Leftwich and BA it's definitely BL. BA has said BL is making all the play calls.
