No kidding.... I mean seriously, who opens attachments they don't know are coming?

Of course, I know the answer to that. Just this week at work we've been subjected to the reply-all "was this email supposed to go to me?", reply-all, "was it supposed to go to me, too", etc. in response to a blast corporate message. Surprisingly it's been a while since that's happened.

Don't let this happen to you.
SEND THIS WARNING TO EVERYONE ON YOUR EMAIL LIST.

IF A MAN COMES TO YOUR FRONT DOOR AND SAYS HE IS CONDUCTING A SURVEY AND ASKS YOU TO SHOW HIM YOUR BOOBS, DO NOT SHOW HIM YOUR BOOBS.

THIS IS A SCAM. HE ONLY WANTS TO SEE YOUR BOOBS.

I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid.

Signed,
The Blonde

Doc?...all I know is if you're in a medical office and someone says "bend over..the ol' doc is gonna fix ya right up"... Run like hell!
I thought those were the moments that you live for. Pretty sure that's what you told us.

Our team is pretty sensitive about these things, to the point of borderline hysteria. Comes with the territory as an international tech company, I guess.
Lulz. I love this stuff. My first reaction to this thread was a mental note that I need to go find the email linking to a google doc received yesterday and do some analysis. I'm out on post-surgery (partial knee replacement) medical leave from my job doing CND (computer network defense) for a major government agency. Your team should be preaching borderline hysteria. Lots of corporate secrets are stolen by network attackers from overseas. The mass consumer exposures get all the attention, the real big deal is stuff like major petroleum companies getting hacked for oil and gas exploration engineering data just before a lease auction (old news, google "Night Dragon"). Your tech company is undoubtedly being targeted by foreign competitors if you're doing anything interesting. Watch out for supply chain compromises too, a couple of years ago reports were that the PRC was targeting law firms as a vector to steal client data.

So anyway, stuff like this google doc is probably consumer-grade cyber crime. My taxonomy is: Consumer grade (targets individuals); commercial grade (SOHO and SMB up to multinational corporates); weapons grade (nation state actors); sniper grade (highly targeted nation state stuff). Then it gets interesting...

There's a good chance that this is leveraging some of the NSA and CIA exploits dumped (probably by the Russians) into Wikileaks recently. Have seem reports that the global cybercrime communities are rushing to analyze and utilize all that info. Makes even well patched systems likely vulnerable.

Good time to be hypervigilant! Be careful! And, good luck!
