Looks like we are getting AJ brown .

So with that and free agency we are looking pretty decent .

We will have a down year this year. If we get to playoffs again that's a win.

Man if Lomu and Jacas turn into above average starters it's a home run no matter if all the rest are busts. Always dream of a gem in the rough with the others, but hold zero expectations.

I usually hate the Pats draft, this one I don't hate. I didn't like Mr. Shortarms last year and that has proven out. Can't blame them for going back and grabbing another tackle in the first round this year, would not surprise me if he beats out the T-Rex.

Like any draft, the real proof will be in a year or two, but they did get an Edge, TE, CB, and LB all areas of obvious need. Now let's see if they can play.

I believe that not upgrading WR will come back to bite the Pats in the arse.
@TheRainMaker Hmmm.. I wonder wich restaurant I'll eat at first near Gillette on June 2nd...

Agreed 100%.. I saw a recent post on not upgrading at WR.. it's a very good reason.. Deal already in place to Aqcuire AJ.. you signed doubs.. you have Boutte, Hollins upgrade at TE.. and year 2 from K. Williams. Wr was so far down on the list of needs for this team.. OT & edge were primary needs.

Day 1 and 2. Strong A Day 3 high C. Weighted average B+

B. Love the first 3 picks. If they all hit, this draft will be an A 2-3 years from now. Unfortunately, it comes with the territory when a team that was supposed to be in "rebuilding" mode has the year like the Pats did. So instead of the best OL on the board, we have to trade up to get the 5th? or 6th? rated tackle that still had a 1st round grade.

It works for me though. It was a blast watching our guys make a run to the Superbowl again! I'll take drafting 32nd any time. Of course drafting 31 still stings a little.

Maybe you could test the limits of gravity. Off the Pru.

My bad, thought they grabbed a center... crownover is a T
Crownover is a RT who many of us have thought was a good choice for us as a future replacement for Moses. I expected to get him in the 4th (where may pundits had him) and was disappointed that he wasn't drafted by us in the 5th.

If we drafted Vandenberg instead of Prunty, I would give the draft an A or A-.

Gave them a B, like most here, and it's a solid B. I like that they traded up to get the guys they wanted - I read somewhere that Jacas was the highest guy on their board. Watching his tape, I see why some are excited about him.

I really didn't know the draft class this year. When I heard it was sucky, and given our draft position, I hardly paid attention. to be honest. I love that they added two tackles - one needs to bulk up, the other needs polish. Good potential there to strengthen the OL.

I like the two Ts and Jacas...waiting to hear on my ND-stan buddy to give me the scoop on Raridon (sounds like a nearly extinct dinosaur, eh? So with Campbell, they have two dinosaurs on the team.).

I look at the Off-season this way thus far:
Lost Bradbury, gained Vera Tucker. Big Win, both because of AVT and Wilson waiting to take over Center. 2 upgrades, IMO.

Lost Chaisson and his backup Jennings, added Dre'mont Jones and now Jacas. Win. Jones is the best of these four (don't think it's close) and Jacas is a rookie with a high ceiling.

Lost Hawkins, added Byard. I liked Hawkins, but that's a big Win.

Lost Diggs, added Doubs. Wash. I think Diggs is the better player, but I like the younger guy and don't want the drama.

Lost Hooper, gained Rariden. I like that they are getting younger here and hope this kid can at least replace Hooper's production, which wasn't much anyway. And gained Hill, who should help with the running game, at least (and the blitzes).

Lost Mapu, Gibbens, Tonga, and Austin (I liked Austin)...only big minus there is Tonga, and I worry about the LB corps. Really wish they had grabbed one of the LB FAs. Vildur should replace Austin.

Lost Gipson, but he was gone last year anyway (really liked him), added Gilliam. They Win here because Gipson wasn't really on the team last year anyway, and I like the FB add.

It's a very good off-season so far, and much better than I had hoped, given their overachievement and thus, lack of draft capital, this year.. Adding Brown, if it happens, and the second year jump from their good rookies makes them better on paper by a lot, I think.

I'm excited for camp.

We also added Hill

Not taking one WR certainly points to a possible trade incoming for Brown.
Yes! Is why I wasn't as concerned. Also this coaching staff unlike those of the recent past actually develops players..

K. Williams, Boutte, Henderson, Drake even will all be better simply from having experienced things and going as deep into the playoffs as they did. Getting that taste of a superbowl only fuels competitive fire.

We also added Hill
Really like Hill and the physicality he brings. The offense is shaping up to be more multiple and have more sustained clock draining drives.. that is how you deflate teams.

Yes, we executed well in the upper rounds and the result was good, getting the last OT and the last Edge before big drop-offs, without overpaying in either trade. We filled our 3 glaring needs with + athletes. OL is now in a good spot, as well as Edge and TE. Prunty was a guy we knew from a 30 visit, and Crownover looks better than Bryant. Going without a 4th was painful but was the cost of getting the top 2 guys.

I wasn't as happy with the 6th & 7th rounds, starting with the trades. We picked at 196 (Crownover), 212 (Obiazor), 234 (Morton), 245 (Miller), and 247 (Hutchins), and only 1 or 2 of them look likely to make the team. But we started R6 with 191, 198, 212, and 247, and if we'd stayed put we could've taken Jack Kelly at 191, Crownover/Micah Morris at 198, VJ Payne/Tim Keenan at 212, and Nussmeier/Uar at 247. All 4 of those picks would've made the team I think, as real contributors. The 2027 6th wasn't needed cause we already had 3 extra 2027 picks in that range.
I gather (Phil Perry) the consensus was that both the top and the bottom of his year's draft were weak. They did seem to opt more for guaranteed mediocrities over intriguing developmental projects late on the draft, which doesn't make for very inspiring choices. Maybe that's what you have to do when your team is a weak in backups still in a number of positions. So the late draft wasn't very intriguing. (The qb seemed odd to me, but maybe that's just because I want to see the Charming Goombah win the backup role.) I guess time will tell, but I'm happy to defer to your judgment. I don't follow college ball at all, so I should probably listen to those who do.

For some reason i thought he was a center

****ed that one up... oh well

Ain't the first time , won't be the last

Yeah…it surprised me they didn’t go after a WR in the mid/late rounds.

Seems like they’re loading up on WRs with UFDAs.

Also, it’s highly probable now that AJ will be a Patriot on June 2nd. I just hope they don’t give up a first.
