Day 3 was fumbled a bit at the end... but you have to forgive that a little when the first 5 or so picks where strong.
28 - Lomu - A- good value at a need spot, but very possibly lacks instant impact. However, in the event Campbell can't hold down OT it gives you a contingency without just punting the season away. Cause a subpar LT can tank everything. Best case he doesn't play at all this year. Which is not what you ideally want on a first round pick with needs. So it can't be an A+ in any case.
55 - Jacas - B+ This one has grown on me. I almost gave it an A- but in the end I am sticking with my B+ ranking. cause I am not sold on his upside, but i am warming up to the idea he will be a good player fighting hard for starting minutes by mid year. A good pick for this spot.
95 - Raridon - A- This pick i believe will be sensational value and he will force his way on the field before long. The only reason it is not an A or A+ is because Henry will eat a lot of his time and the plan to play Hill/Gilliam a lot will take away some reps and shrink his role this year.
171 - Prunty B Remember we are at 171. Prunty is one of those high upside prospects you kind of like to take here. He is a bit unproven vs high end competition but was really good last year. I think he made questionable choices on his college play locations and portal timings that didn't allow him to get enough tape on film. But his RAS and PFF grades speak highly of him and he was very good last year. Watching his tape i saw a lot of good things. He does live up to that RAS in a lot of respects. The main issues I saw were at times his tackling wasn't the best (sometimes unoptimal angles that could have been broken) and despite his sensational 3 cone time for a 6'1.5 CB that didn't always show up on change of direction as sharply as i like. However this is one of those swing for the fences picks like Edelman was. He has the traits, he played at Wake Forest last year and did well, and while it isn't Alabama it is a notable school which played notable competition. It is a swing for the fences kind of pick. I can't dislike it much.
196 - Crownover A+ I didn't think they would be picking tackle again in the draft and not an immediate need but the value here is SENSATIONAL. One of the steals of the draft for sure. Everyone loaded up on tackle early and it caused a guy who needs a year but has all the tools you can't teach and a good base to fall. To find a project like this that isn't far away from potentially being a 10 year quality starter this late is fantastic drafting.
212 - Obiazor D They brought him here to be a specail teamer. Not a LB. That is clear to me. But despite his 2 blocked kicks in his college career, considering he will likely only ever see the field as a STer, is he good enough to make it on that alone? If that is all you do you need to be REALLY good. I am not convinced he is.
234 - Morton C If he is here just to be a camp arm is it an F and waste. IF he is here to be a cheap quality QB back up for 4 years. This is actually good value. Split the difference and call it a C.
245 - Miller B They needed an RB and they got one. I am not a big believer he will be someone here for the long run but was probably the best guy left on the board and now you don't need to fight after the draft to get him.
247 - Hutchins F Even at the end of the draft, this one makes no sense to me. The only explanation is they saw absolutely no one worth picking and would rather not have the pick at all as an UDFA contract allows a little more freedom. Maybe he is a guy they picked just to cut.
Overall only in the context of knowing AJ Brown is in the bag does this draft make sense, as it was so much building things to fill out your team more than have immediate impact this year. So in that context...
Final Grade: B
