Game Day Thread Official Pre-season Gameday Thread. Bears @ Patriots (Week 2)

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

I thought we'd see jimmy g with the ball in his hands instead of all these runs. I mean afterall he's the question mark and he's the one with limited experience.

sigh.

I don't think Bolden has ever fumbled in the pros.

It's Jamie Collins time.

we need a TO on this drive !

My biggest issue with him is he is none existent in the run game. It has nothing to do with corners. Im talking about big run plays. He gets washed out. He was never good in run support, even in 2014. He only got worse.

That's because the Pats play a bunch of single high safety. McCourty is way, way too far back in the field to be a regular in run support. And that's fine because having the range that he has back there allows Chung to play much closer to the LOS. I'd argue that McCourty's main contribution in the run game is enabling Chung to make the plays he makes.

I wouldn't say McCourty's strong in run support, but I wouldn't say it's a weakness, either. He's a technically sound tackler.

He's the free safety, hes usually roaming the middle of the field having to be the only safety net in the defense.. He has huge range and closing speed, which are the main skills you want in a free safety.. along with play recognition obviously, which hes excellent at

Bolden is a good emergency and fill in RB but that play is why he stays on STs..just doesn't have the around the edge speed...

That's the first time, I think, that Malcom Brown has reminded me of Wilfork a bit. Hopefully we see much, much more like that from him.

How's the game gents (and few ladies out there)? I've been out watching another Jimmy. Solid outting for Buffet but he's grtting up there in age. Need to groom a successor.

Flowers with the sack. Kid is having a very good game.

Freeny completely whiffed on a tackle..puts his head down and barely got a miff on the RB

Flowers is a beast

Not too bad. We're down 11-0, but the score doesn't matter, Collins has looked phenomenal, Flowers looks good, overall mixed bag.
