Anyone feeling confident about Drake Maye after Sunday?
No but I also feel that Pete Caroll may just know how to beat McDaniels' playcalls. Brady had to play lights out to beat those past Seahawk teams and Maye isn't at that level.

Our running game is what has me down. I haven't been pleased with Rham since an over the hill Zeke consistently outplayed him. We don't have a dominant line so I don't really expect him to improve and I honestly feel like he is our worst option on the roster and is surviving off prior years. And Maye needs to be incorporated into the run game. Mahomes and all the other qbs of this generation consistently make the defense aware of their legs and Maye didn't.

So he's been 23 for a fekkin' week???

Seriously. We have zero idea if the kid is going to be any good at 23 fekkin' years old. I can promise you he's 100% not going to be Tom Brady 2.0, so how about you just pump the brakes and relax. He came into the league inexperienced with questionable fundamentals and his first year was maybe the worst coaching situation he could have fallen into. Maybe he's going to be ok. Maybe not. But week fekkin' one under a new regime and you want Tommy fekkin' Cutlets?

Give your balls a tug.
Amazing isn’t it.
Bring out the pitch forks and burn him at the stake.
One week and now “he has no fire”, is “weak mentally”,”doesn’t care”, and “is an idiot”.

Everyone loved Stroud as a rook, then he regressed last year. Guess he’s an idiot with no fire, weak mentally and doesn’t care”.

People need to step back from the ledge.
Maybe he never turns into what we hoped he would be, maybe he does. But to go to these extremes after week 1 is mind numbing.

Maye running yesterday: I was like WTF??

Stroud sucked yesterday as well. Dude has regressed? Want to know why? Not enough training camp/preseason reps.

According to some posters here, it must be because he has no fire, is an idiot and doesn’t care.

I want Maye to do good: but if he's having problems reading a Zone Defense. Well Houston we have a Big problem.

Vrabel on the radio this morning talking about Drake Maye:

"I think that he wants to be, at times, perfect - and I need to get past that. We all have to get past that. We need to be precise and not perfect, and if you make a mistake, it's the reaction that you have to the mistake that everybody sees, and then they're like 'oh wow yeah that was a mistake.' We have to clean our reactions up, our responses have to be much better. And then getting into the flow, because you see really good timing and and precision and accuracy, and then we see some other misses. I just want better performance, more consistent, and continue to grow as a leader and make sure that there is a command to what we're doing - 'this is the situation, this is the play' - those are the things that I'm focused on."

The nice thing about being a pessimist is that you're rarely disappointed.

There's a lot to be said for waiting for the first four games to form an opinion about the team's prospects.

If not that, wait at least one game so you see what the product on the field looks like in a real game.
Being a pessimist is appealing to many because you can have a parade for yourself when you’re right while knowing no one will care when you were wrong since what other people wanted to happen did happen.

The cost however is that people catch on quickly to the act and don’t care to listen to whatever insight you actually have to offer.

That said, there is a difference between being a pessimist and a critic. A critic can make caustic comments, but demonstrates fairness and intellectual honesty when doing so.

Maye has a long way to go. I had hopes of a big jump in year 2 with JMcD and it may still need more time but his comparisons (by himself?) to josh allen at draft time look very far off right now.

I just...

I probably should not be in the forum with all these negative nancies this week.

I didn't like his end with the Raiders... he was a hated bastard there. Kelly's name was mentioned for an Interview at the end of last season for OC. I hope we didn't make a mistake.
He will be fine, all OC get tunnel vision with play calling in some games.

To set the context a bit, we were talking about those projecting 6 wins vs those projecting 8-10+ wins, without either seeing a single game.

Personally I think it's more intellectually dishonest to be that "look at me" optimist in that situation, but that's just my take.

I like McDaniejs but he does have a tendency to a in Don the run when things don’t go well. That being said. he schemed plenty of guys open yesterday and Maye missed them.
Maye didn’t miss that many he was 30/46.

The passing game was great in the first half, so I get the idea we can throw on them, but he abandoned any semblance of balance and for some reason kept trying to call throws to the RBs.
He will realize he messed up, it happens in the heat of the battle.

Me too. He was responsible for the INT that eventually netted us our only TD of the game. I blame Vrabel for that play mostly.

If it’s Gonzo and you want to leave him on an island, okay I can see that. But still.
Yeah, they showed all game they would dump it underneath in that situation if you played coverage

Bro. Shut up.

I question your fandom TBH. I think you're a fan of winning but not a fan of the Patriots. Like a Yankee fan.
