Exactly . Sum of parts made bill look better than what we thought . McDaniels + scar + Flores + Ernie .
Now with all of them gone and with sycophants ruling the roost , the results are pretty glaring.
Bill might be wise to call it a day else he might get exposed more .
Exposed as what?
He took over a dismal 3-13 Cleveland Browns team and then progressively built that franchise up to 6-10, 7-9, 7-9, then 11-5 and a playoff win over New England. Classic team building process. Then they decided to move to Baltimore and BB was stuck in the middle of a team catastrophe, and they went 5-11.
He came to New England and took over a team that had been in decline since 1996. Completely retooling the organization, they went 5-11 in his first year, and then drafted Brady. Then he won a bajillion games and won six Super Bowls.
Then the post-Brady rebuild came, and they went 7-9 and then 10-7 in the first two seasons of the rebuild. This year has been disappointing, but they're on a normal rebuild trajectory as a franchise.
He's done two rebuilds, and both were highly successful. Obviously the NE rebuild was aided by drafting and developing the greatest player in NFL history, but people make it seem like that's a strike AGAINST Belichick. It's actually a point in his favor. There aren't many coaches who would have made the switch from Bledsoe to Brady once Drew was healthy again, but BB did, and the rest is history.
Now he's on his third rebuild. He needs a chance to make it work.
The man knows what the hell he's doing. He's been phenomenal at this for a long, long time.
Rebuilds take time everyone.
