Glad to see those couple of wins agains the Jets and Ravens were awesome. This will go down as the season that the Pats dynasty ended because they didn't do what even the brain dead, drug addled owner of the Dolts knew they had to do. Which is tank. Tank for the QB of the future. Instead they are trending towards that dreaded treadmill pick area. Not low enough to be a near auto pick, and not high enough to be worth a gamble. Nah, those wins however were fantastic.

When Lawerence is breaking it off against the Pats D for the next 10 plus years we can all cling to those useless wins in 2020.

Let’s see who contends for a title first, pats or jets

I'll ride the consensus best QB in a long, long time over whomever the Pats sign or draft. Unless they luck out and get someone like Wilson etc.
Ok, and that’s fair, but I’ll ride with the team that’s a better team to start and isn’t a ****ty organization that tanks (btw they aren’t even trying to tank, they’re just awful).
They’ve been unintentionally tanking for about a decade now. If tanking was so effective, we’d see the worst teams in the league turning into the best more often, in my opinion.

So you’re saying bill should have gone out in front of the team and tell them to lose on purpose?

FYI, if we had finished 2 and 14, chances are we would have the number 2 pick behind Jacksonville.

fields would not have been a bad consolation prize!

The Texans did beat the Pats. The Pats beat the Pats. Cam Newton beat the Pats.
Who is next to beat the Pats?

2nd Team Getting Their First Start
1. Cam Newton can definitely throw when the playbook is opened up. See today and the Seattle game. Take out his 3 covid games and he's got some efficient passing numbers.
2. Byrd and Meyers should be the starting WRs.
3. McDaniels forcing the offense to Harry today over Meyers was total horsesh-t, again. Meyers should be the #1 WR and get the most targets, especially against blitzes.
4. The total lack of even trying to develop any of the rookie TEs into the passing game in the entire year of 2020 should be reason enough for a new offensive coordinator.
5. Damien Harris with only 11 carries. Harris not getting 20 rushes every game is inexplicable and pure idiocy from McDaniels. Texans had the league-worst runD giving up 170 yards/game but McDaniels kept trying a spread WR offense.

.
I disagree they tried to force the ball to Harry, every throw his way he was pretty much open. Cam is not an accurate passer, especially on the run or under any kind of pressure where he can't set his feet exactly how he needs them to be. There were 3 to 4 throws into the dirt or at the feet of open receivers. Guys are constantly having to slow down and reach behind them to catch balls, where they could pick up more yards if better placed. Also for a guy that tall, he sure gets a lot of passes deflected. He doesn't use his eyes to shift coverage and open passing lanes. QB play needs to take a lot of blame

If Kraft wants to tank he will have to fire the coach and GM, which he will not do.
I do think its possible BB leaves at the end of the year for a President's role (like Coughlin and Parcells did). When BB leaves the pats won't have to tank, they will be horrible for the next 3-4 years.

What throws in the dirt? Went 9/9 zero drops to Byrd and Meyers. Only drops to Harry.

Seriously? he threw two that were 3 yards in front of open receivers right into the ground and another pass at the feet of Harry. I feel like there was one more, but I can't think of it. Cam has at least one throw like that a game, putting the ball into the ground in front of his open guy.

It's never Harry's fault right ? 2 years and a catch % of 55%. Doesn't matter if it's Cam or the GOAT. Also multiple INTs given up, he doesn't fight for the ball. Oh and also concussion prone and injury prone. He's on a similar trajectory as Rivers and Froholdt.

There was a specific point in the late 4th quarter drive that bothered me.
This is after the Texans had kicked a FG to take a 27-20 lead, with plenty of time (4:11) left to play.

The Pats took over on their own 25 after a touchback (why do the Pats not do that every kickoff return?...)

Four plays later Newton completed a 14 yard pass to Meyers, up to the 50.

An inexcusable 43 seconds came off the clock before the next play ... a whopping 4-yard completion in the middle of the field to Harry, who quickly dropped. Then an additional 36 seconds ticked off before a 6-yard completion to Harry.

Ten yards gained, 1:19 lost off the clock, and now you are suddenly down to 1:56 remaining with 40 yards still to go.

The Pats did have two timeouts remaining - but rather than use them on offense to save time (such as after the completion to Meyers, or the 4-yard pass to Harry), they used them on defense: as a strictly last gasp, hope-the-other-team-screws-up, hail mary clock stopping maneuver.

Completely insane to force play calls to Harry twice in a row, their worst offensive weapon. And poor time management.

Stidham needs to start. I don’t think Cam will be happy about it which I would understand. If he isn’t, just release him.
I agree to a certain extent but you've gotta earn the right to start. Stidham had an opportunity in training camp and didn't seize it. He had an opportunity in the Chiefs' game and didn't seize it. He's presumably had opportunities in practice to improve and compete, and seemingly hasn't made significant-enough progress to start.

Stidham has had opportunities to compete for playing time and yet here we are. Not totally ready to give up on him but you don't just make him the starter simply because Cam isn't a long-term answer; playing time is earned, so if he hasn't earned it, he doesn't play.

For all of Cam's faults and the mismatch in his skill-set with our scheme, at the very least he's a hard worker and competes his tail off every day.
