Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Bucs certainly want to win Sunday at 49ers, but NFC South is bad enough that Tampa Bay can lose its next three games, be 6-9 and still control their playoff destiny. Finish with wins vs. Panthers and Falcons, on those two wins alone, they win the division at 8-9.

In theory, if everything went in their favor, Bucs could clinch NFC South title next weekend. If Bucs beat 49ers and Bengals, Panthers lose next two and Saints beat Falcons in Week 15, then Bucs would be 8-6 with tiebreakers needed to clinch with three weeks remaining.

Bowles said Tristan Wirfs is the only player ruled out for Sunday vs. 49ers. Will check on the three injured defensive backs Sunday.

Maybe the Rams found their guy in Baker Mayfield if he keeps playing like last night.
He threw for 230 yards and scored 3 points before the 4th Q, against the #25 scoring defense...

If Mac Jones had that kind of night we would be calling for him to be benched for Zappe

If they beat SF then their focus shifts to overtaking SF for the #3 seed. That's probably going to require them to play out the entire season (and not resting starters).

76,299 posts... that's got to be the most. Impressive number. I appreciate the Twitter updates... keeps us up to date on all of the important happenings. Thanks!

yeah but cut him some slack, he is new to the team and hasnt played with these guys.

Rest every single starter for the next 3 games and then treat the rest of the season as a 3-6 game playoffs. That would be funny.

Brady's Girlfriend ....

only way this team is going to score 30 is going full 2012 Pats no huddle for most of the game it seems

idk if the numbers were correct but I saw a tweet saying the Bucs had the 3rd ranked offense when going no huddle (mostly Brady) and like the 26th ranked or something when playing normally (mostly Leftwich)

All that talent and they scored over 29 twice why’s nobody been fired

Look at the personnel issues, particularly along the OL
Compare the playing style to what it was last season
Note the change in head coach from an offensive mind to a defensive mind

That probably has something to do with it.

Baker has not been able to sustain any success in his NFL career. He had a special night last night but the good aren't likely to keep rolling through the end of the season. If Stafford is finished then the Rams become a real possibility for Brady.
The Rams are the type of team that goes for the homerun. They'd be a good fit for Brady buy they just extended Stafford aftet the SB so I think it would be very difficult to move on from him.

Right, Stafford would need to retire, which seems like a real possibility. If he does retire then he's walking away from $170 mil so it'll be a tough decision. But health concerns may compel him to quit. With Stafford out of the picture then LAR becomes a great fit for Brady.

The Rams will probably sign Jimmy because they’re ****ing morons.

I mean there is quite obviously something systematically wrong with the Bucs right now where their offense literally cant do anything ..........................
The reason for that is obvious. Poor QB play.

I wouldn't say poor QB play. I think he's having a C-B+ season. Problem is the team needs him to play like 2021 and he's not right now.

Yeah. It is really tough IMO to judge Brady right now. His Oline is a mess and his receivers only seem half committed. When I watch him he does seem just a nanosecond off in some of his decisions. It is also clear he does not trust the Oline either for good reason. The defense IMO is playing well enough to win which gives me hope as I trust Brady to be able to fix whatever is wrong with the offense assuming some of the key guys get healthy by seasons end.
