Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Yeah, it's not good when she's essentially saying you do you and I'll do me, and I've sacrificed for you so I'm putting me first. She makes it sound like she sacrificed so much for him and the children. Sorry but welcome to the real world the rest of us live in. Not feeling sorry as that's what the rest of us have to do to make a marriage and family work.
Wonder if Tommy told her she's just going to have to accept that FOX is gonna make him work Thanksgiving and Christmas too?

That's a good point. Working as a football broadcaster requires a ton of travel including on or around those holidays. Thing is, though, Tom's kids are getting older which you'd think would loosen things up a tad. Plus they don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Brazil so Gazelle should cut him some slack there.

Brady noted the impact of his decades of playing in the NFL in terms of his priorities. "I haven't had a Christmas in 23 years and I haven't had a Thanksgiving in 23 years, I haven't celebrated birthdays with people that I care about that are born from August to late January. And I'm not able to be at funerals and I'm not able to be at weddings," Brady told Gray. "I think there comes a point in your life where you say: 'You know what? I've had my fill and it's enough and time to go on, to move into other parts of life.'"

Personally, I hope they work things out, for the kid's sake if nothing else. I think it's fair to wonder based on this report if Tom's un-retirement is the straw that breaks the camel's back. It seems he got himself to the point of admitting it was time for him to dedicate more time to the family according to his wife's wishes, but then after putting that out he quickly pulled it back, which is IMO more than enough to piss off any wife.

But, they both have the "going for the gold" approach to life, and as many others here have said, that requires sacrifices. If you are going for the gold, chances are good that you are going to miss out on a bunch of weddings, funerals and holidays.

If Tommy hasn't played this right, he could end up divorced, working all those weekends and holidays for FOX, and sending half his paycheck to Gisele.

You'd think he'd give his wife a year or 2 before joining a broadcast team though. He needs to take his ADD meds and relax a bit, or perhaps she's really a ball buster and he likes the road.

I would say they should just separate, but my man is with a Latina.

I think he's nuts to want a second career in broadcasting. There's no need for it; he should just enjoy life and dabble in charitable causes if he wants to make a difference. Or a million other less-demanding things. He could expand the TB12 brand to include exclusive schooling for quarterbacks, for instance.

Or he could do less demanding things like joining a football forum and spend all his time on threads bashing the irrelevant lowly Jete, judging everything & anyone, & trolling. That is if he wants to become a beta male. Gisselle would leave him faster than Richard Pryor with his hair on fire.

I agree but to each our own. I would of thought he'd retire and continue what he started with TB12 and relax on the beach but it appears what makes him the best at football also makes him restless.

Pure speculation on my part but I'm guessing he wants to be the main guy in an ownership group of a NFL team.

He's obsessed with football so it's logical to me that he's going to continue that in some capacity whether it's coaching, training, studio, or ownership.

He hasn't shown any interest in becoming a professional coach.

He's already into training through TB12.

For ownership, he'll probably need to be worth 500 mil but 1 billion is more ideal. Between his net worth, hopefully Giselles net worth, his various endeavors, and a couple years of studio job, that 1 billion is in sight.

Agree. The drive that made Brady the GOAT is not something you can turn off.

I think he saw what people like Romo and Aikman and the Manning Bros were signing for as broadcasters and said "those MFers aren't as good as me" and impulsively decided he wanted in. It'll be interesting to see if being a broadcaster is enough to get him out of bed in the morning. I could see him becoming the next Drew Brees: all sizzle, no bacon, one and done.

He is pretty bland. I would give him a shot though maybe he's worked on his speaking skills.

Who is judging who, and what, here? Seems you have quite a few critical opinions to offer.

If I’m Brady and Giselle lays down the law and goes “we aren’t going to get divorced but until you’re finally done with football we’re separated” I’d give her one last giant kiss and tell her I’d see her at the kids high school graduation.

As Bucs prepare for the Saints on Sunday, it's still remarkable that since Tom Brady arrived, Tampa Bay is 1-7 against the Saints and Rams, 29-3 against everyone else.

Brady again talked about the lack of continuity with receivers getting injured during Sunday’s game, saying the sport is a “demolition derby” and they have to keep playing well regardless of who’s in the game.

Gisele seems pretty stupid and annoying, to be honest. If there's a kernel of truth to some of the tabloid esque rumors.. she needs to shut up and let Brady live out his last few years doing what he loves instead of acting so subversive. On the other hand, I also think the quote from Brady about not having a Christmas or Thanksgiving in 20+ years is a bit absurd.

With that being said, I'm still very, very surprised Brady is going to call games. I don't think he ever wanted to, but the massive amount he was offered was too hard to decline. I don't really blame him, but I thought he'd be the type to realize he has enough money and an extra $300M doesn't really change things, except for the materialistic side.
