Nick Chubb test positive for COVID

The NFL protocol for vaccinated players is that they do not have to quarantine, but can not participate until they can produce two negative tests at lest 24 hours apart.

Also the Browns are now in advanced COVID protocol, meaning everyone is getting tested daily. Not sure if they give updates of who tested pos or neg.

So technically Chubb could have produced a negative test on Tuesday and today-and he would be cleared. I would watch to see what he is listed on the injury report.

In economics, per capita doesn’t mean jack ****. We contribute the 4th most for the US economy. Bigger is better. Don’t let your wife tell you otherwise.
I don't know about you, but I'd rather live in Sweden than India.

No Covid for this guy. Bronchitis. Gotta say, I was a bit disappointed. I was just at a super spreader event, otherwise known as a wedding, on Saturday and I would have loved to have blasted some people with fresh particles. My mommy and daddy always taught me that sharing is caring. But alas, it was not to be. Mission failed. We’ll get ‘em next time.
Captain Price, is that you?

He is officially in the COVID protocol. If he had two consecutive tests that were negative, they would announced that he has exited the COVID protocol. That will be how we know. And as far as I know they do not announce if a player has tested negative once.

@Ian, @Ross12 , @ashley1992 , @whoever... I know it is fighting a deluge, but WHY do you allow these political, pro-vax, anti-vax, pro-mandate, anti-mandate arguments to continue? It is making the board unreadable IMO.

Never once in history has anyone been able to change someone's mind about something like this. And even if they could, this is not the place for it. I love Kontra and Ken and do not give a SH!T what they think about this. This is where I come to get away from that and to focus on threads that parse out if our OC is simply terrible or ****ing terrible.

Why do you let it go on?????????

I think it would be better if everyone just agrees with me so we can move on.

For real though, since I love you (and I mean that), I’ll stop.

If they made me a mod I'd just ban all the maskzis. Then everyone would be in agreement with me and we'd all be happy.

I agree with you here, I don't want to read about any of that here either. The protocol is what it is - whether you think it's right or wrong doesn't change it. Not sure why we need to talk about how masks work or don't work, or how you feel about the vaccine, etc.

The unfortunate fact is that we've only got so many active mods/admins here and those of us who are here don't have all the time in the world. This isn't a site that should require 24/7 active moderation... it certainly didn't need it in the past, which feels distant now. You can see in the early pages of this thread, there was a clear attempt to keep things on the rails, but people just do what they want anyway. As soon as we don't have someone to actively babysit a thread that's even tangentially COVID-related, it devolves, and then you're where we are now where it's so far gone that I don't even know how you'd fix it.

I could say "OK, guys, now for REALS, stop now, I mean it!!!", but I feel like that would just look stupid after things are so far off the rails already.

I guess this isn't really the best answer in the world, but I didn't want to ignore you. I wish I could personally do more, but this post itself took me almost an hour to write just because my 4-year-old has pulled me away at least 10 times for making the cat mad/pooping himself/spilling his drink/the TV isn't working/wants dessert/wants to know how steam trains work/tripped and fell/[insert 3 more toddler things here]... and even if I had more time, there's only so much re-reading and re-moderating of the same argument over and over one person can do in a short period of time...

I appreciate you asking and I do want you to know that we talk about our approach on this a lot. I know we can do better, but the solutions are rarely simple or realistic.

You're right. I should've put Kontra on ignore ages ago. You got me to realize that he's not worth engaging.

Respectfully, Ross, there’s also plenty of blame pie to people who complain about things like this. This thread reached its end, in terms of Nick Chubb. People provided some good information about the protocols, and it was fine. Similar to the Rodgers thread. After threads run their course, they often either disappear to page 2 due to neglect or break down into some sideways discussion.

I feel that some who complain about the discussions are also very well aware that “the marrow has been sucked out of the bone” and they basically come here to inflict themselves with frustration.

Why not just put this thread on ignore, if you don’t like it now? It would just fade away to page 2 anyway, and Chubb status updates will be very obvious.

I don’t think there’s much problem with the moderation here. People need to be adults and not click on threads whose content they don’t like. I understand the criticism of OT stuff on some threads, if it interferes with the actual discussion, bit this isn’t one of them.

What have I said that isn't true? And where did I call them fact except in your brain? Also, I doubt the British Medical Jourbal would say they have physical evidence of this including emails, pictures, documents, and recorded phone calls and publish that in their journal if they didn't have significant evidence. So show me where I'm wrong...
Nothing @patfanken ? I would have thought you would tell me what a rag the BMJ is to the science world

I’d be surprised if Chubb didn’t play. The NFL already proved with Rodgers that their protocol is BS, and meant merely as a form of corporate virtue signaling.

Looking at the Covid tracker (somewhat legit), it looks like a guy testing positive can turn around in 4-5 days maybe 10% of the time. And since Chubb is also traveling, he may not even have that much time. I think he’s out.

I love you too. And I tried to be careful not to blame anyone (other than the mods, I guess) because I can see how once a “discussion” like this gets going, it just keeps going.

And to the mods, I Understand that you are doing free and mostly thankless work. It would just be great if these things could be nipped in the bud.

And I am not doing my every five years “I’m gonna quit the message board” kind of thing right now!

First off, and I feel like I can say this since you’ve owned it in the past, you are in no position to be giving ANYONE health advice or talk down to anyone based on the choices they make about their health. You weigh 1/4 of a ton. You’re super obese and you don’t appear to be doing anything about it.
OK dude, seriously? That's how you're going to play this? Wow. I guess that makes you one of the world's smartest idiots.

I'm not talking about lifestyle. this is not a lifestyle issue. This is an issue of you making absurdly false statements about your legal rights. Going straight for the ad homenim just proves you already know you're wrong.

The only thing I got out of this conversation is somebody here weighs 500 pounds
Yep that's me. Kon thought that that was somehow a valid rebuttal to my making accurate statements about what American civil rights are and aren't. I dunno, he's just special like that.

Ross, I really appreciate that thoughtful answer. And I get it, and I respect what you do here.

I try to ignore it but sometimes it is tough to be the biggest person, especially when you’re 5’9” 165.

Have a nice night with the family! I would’ve replied earlier but I was dealing with my 21-year-old daughter who is poopy, but in different ways than she was 20 years ago.

how about those that had Covid and have natural immunity and do not want to risk getting the vaccine?
Natural immunity isn't a myth, exactly, but it doesn't compare to even the least effective approved vaccines. While the numbers weren't in people could get away with saying this stuff, but they're in now and that particular game is over. Natural immunity is between 35 and 60% effective. even the least effective vaccines are in the 70-90% range.

Also all the problems associated with vaccinations in terms of fading effectiveness apply to natural immunity, since it comes from the same source (antibody response)

I didn’t ignore this thread because I wanted to know the status of Chubb being able to play. That is why I come here.

You too man. My oldest is 12, so I know there are many more forms of poopy yet.
