According to douchebag felger he never makes a wrong move and Pats fans have no right criticizing him because he has run circles around Belichick over the last 4 years. And the hilarious thing is people like Captain Stone agree with that statement.

People still listen to them? I wish people would not listen at all

He can't be any worse than Freeny.
Sigh....maybe. Freeney was hit n miss last year.

Clearly Dansby knows the game. I have no idea if he still can move around well.

The thing is that he's made a few good free agent signings, yes, but he paid them these huge contracts that many idiot GMs could do just as well... I mean how hard is it to offer Talib big money? How hard is it to give Demaryius Thomas a top of the market deal? How hard is it to decide to sign Demarcus Ware? How hard is it to decide you want Peyton freakin Manning as a QB? And he certainly has not made any of those "genius signings" this season thus far...

And as @robertweathers pointed out, his drafting record is mediocre. So even if you give him credit for his free agency acumen, if his team had suffered even half the injuries that a team like the Pats or Ravens did last year, he would've been in really hot water.

He sounds like a nice player but a 2nd round pick is reach. Then again, almost all of the Patriots 2nd rounders seem to be reaches.

NFL Draft Scout seems to be the most accurate site I've seen in terms of draft projections and they have Drake as a 3-4 round pick. Based on that, I don't think taking him at the end of the 2nd would be that much of a head scratcher.

I mean credit to him for going out and getting guys for that defense and hiring Wade Phillips and they capitalized on a great year from the defense.. However he is now sitting there with Mark Sanchez as currently the starter. And I know people will say "that defense carried them to a championship with the worst QB last year". Yeah well very good chance that defense doesn't come close to the level it played at last year.

I'll give him some credit here as because to say "it's easy to sign Peyton Manning" was far from obvious before his 2012 comeback that he would have 3 pretty damn good years left in him (aided by HGH in all likelihood, but nonetheless). I still remember that video going around of him barely able to move/throw a football in the winter of 2011/12. The rest of the free agent signings fell in place because of the decision to bring in Manning working out pretty well. Talib, Ware, Sanders, Welkah, Ward, likely that none of those guys go there without him being there. They don't appear to have drafted great, okay, well that will catch up to them. But however it was done they built a pretty good beast out there the past 4 years and if I'm being objective that's not something to totally **** on. That said of course I hope they go 0-16 and they can FOAD for all I care.

"He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 3 inside linebacker in coverage"

That number 3 is meaningless since the grades are mostly arbitrary but it at least suggests he played well last season. Still, he's 35.

Yea maybe he can still get the job done. Didn't watch him much last year so not sure. I thought he was decent with MIA.

Hey, Roman Phifer played ILB here real well after he received his AARP card so it could happen....

Seau did too. It would just have to be a short-term thing on limited snaps, and he might end up competing for a roster spot with a rookie.

I haven't been tossing out every name that hits the internet. Andre Holmes was part of my 2nd/3rd level of UFA WRs; once those at my top level (Marvin Jones, Rishard Matthews, Jermaine Kearse) were no longer available, then I began to focus on more under-30 but less expensive possibilities such as Holmes, Rod Streater, Chris Givens & Leonard Hankerson. I had assumed that Hogan would be re-signed by Buffalo, so I hadn't given him as much consideration; and Nate Washington was grouped with the over-30s such as Anquan Boldin, James Jones & Marques Colston all of whom I still liked, at the right terms, provided that at least one or two of the younger ones above were signed.

I consider my approach more Next Man Up than Tossing Out Names.

I am in the James Jones (Jones caught 50 and had 8 TDs in an emergency role. He is only 31 pr just a few months older than Amendola), Anquan Bolden (AB caught 69 with 4 TDs and QBs that were poop last year), Andre Johnson camp (Johnson still had 41 catches and 4 TDs with injured and declining Colts QB play).

Another Vet?Roddy White might still contribute and a great locker room guy. He caught 43 last year.

Cousins let's consider this; Would Bolden have been open for TB on one or two more completions in the AFC Champ game versus La Fell, Martin, White or even Amendola for that matter? The guy just wills himself open! I want him for crunch time. Lets the kids get beat up in the regular season.

Chris Givens is still very interesting. Youth , size and speed. He was hampered by bad QB play when Flacco went down.

I am not a Percy Harvin fan, but Percy brings one thing that La Fell, Martin and Amendola can't bring....fear by opposing defenses. He was the best WR on the Bills to start 2015. He's only 27. BB knows him well. Can he or will he contribute?

Trades?

Juron Brown from the Cards. 6'2" and 205 . Can play ST. Said to be a starter on many Teams.

How about a trade for Justin Hunter? 6'4" and 203lbs. Speed burner. Is he worth a low pick to the Titans? Only 25 and his hands or routes were not in question. His head was not in the game....ie bad coaching.

How about another "2 for 1" trade: We are thin at CB. Bucs "spare" CB Alterraun Verner only 27. With the Titans he was playing at an all Pro Bowl level in 2013. He is dying a slow death on the Bucs. Terrific with the Titans. 11 Ints in 4 years and 23 pass broken up in 2013. He can't be this bad , this fast.
PLUS
33 Year Old Vincent Jackson for a mid round pick for both. I think the Bucs bite if we can redo contracts.

We have ten picks. We can't use them all. Let's get a ready to play guy or two.

Thoughts?

Dansby wanting a ring..aka a team that will give him the most $$ like every FA that says that

I'd like to see what Nick Fairley is asking for. He would seem to be a more logical replacement for Hicks than Knighton, a version of whom we already have in Branch.
Good one. The Eagles and the Jets are fighting for him and I think we now have more CAP. Not as good as Hicks, but way better than Kerse.

Routes not in question? Are we talking about the same Justin Hunter?

Rams playing chequers while everyone else playing Chess

Before Hicks got to the Pats no one would have ever said Hicks was better than Fairley.
