Well he just wrote down I'm I was thinking when I finally saw what happened on the 2nd day.
It's a marvel that they do so well. They had their pick of any of the 3 TE's that we've all talked about the past 2 months, ANY of whom we'd have been happy with and INSTEAD (and I'm trying to keep it together here) we took a RB we had ZERO NEED FOR, and a OT who while looks like a decent player but was a pure luxury pick that was taken instead of a OBVIOUS desperate need.
THIS is why I hate the draft and hate that once again I was snookered into following it again. It is simply a horrible, frustrating, and exhausting exercise that I regret EVERY year.
Somehow I guess they will continue to build this team over the next few month and will cobble together a team that will be competitive and fun to watch once the season gets here.
But the fact remains that EVERY one of our division rivals improved their teams significantly and it will be hard and hard to overcome the talent discrepancies that continue to grow among our major rivals. Fortunately football is a unique game where the most talent doesn't always win. We saw that clearly this playoff season where the least elite talent won the championship. But that gap seems to be growing and winning will get harder and harder, and this draft didn't do anything in my mind to help that impression.
So tell me again why we didn't draft a TE in the 3rd round, because we needed another RB I never heard of prior to his name being mentioned as our pick, instead of great TE prospects we've talked about for 3 months.
I'm going to need a pill to get to sleep tonight.
