OUR Doug = 'Murica!
You commie!
I come from the land of Live Free or Die. No black and white just white (wait, did I say that outloud?) an Old Man in the Mountain.

Bro, that Old Man is in the mountain now instead of on it 'cause he fell and ain't never gettin' up. Which if you think about it gives whole new meaning to that 'free or die' thing
(I can sorta relate)

Let me have a go at translating:

Followed by:

Something... something... Media/Ben Dreith. Something... something... Sullivans

Closing out:

DOUG FLUTIE!!!
Well, you know, they didn't destroy the lives of and imprison at gunpoint for years any assimilated, multigenerational, English speaking, loyal, hard working German-American citizen families under the suspicion of being spies.

Need the new owner to belatedly, mercifully do the same to the flying elvis.

The flying elvis is nothing but a punch in the face to anyone and everyone who worked for, supported and rooted for the Patriots for 33 years, as well as anyone sighted.
Because Pat the Patriot brought us so much winning. Right or wrong…the Flying Elvis symbolizes Dynasties. I like Dynasties.

One of the best retro logos in sports. I don't understand the logic of the family saying it's illegible for the afar. I understand the floating heads were popular, but that design was very odd. And the Pats uniforms since 2000 have been like the Rams identity crisis with the white helmets on their current uniforms at the time in 2017.

If they are going to keep the Flying Elvis, make him have some more emotion or attitude.

I think so, especially for the younger generations, not just because the Pats won with it, but the emphasis in our culture and society today is to win above all else.

The Red Sox had possibly more winning over eight decades without winning a world championship than anybody else in baseball. The Cubs had so much rich history even without so much winning.

The popular narrative today is, if you don't win you're a loser. Felger's ridiculous, ignorant and most importantly wrong declarations about the supposed meaningless irrelevancy of the '67 Red Sox reflects this.

The younger generations today are robbed of sports knowledge, understanding, perspective, pride and most important awareness. Including exactly how all those Celtics banners wound up in the rafters at the Garden.

The "We sucked" false narrative about the Patriots' first 33 years fuels a lousy fake fandom closer to the ignorant ones in other cities we used to laugh at - and feel fortunate we weren't at.

I think the Yankees or Canadiens or Red Wings, along with the 8 or 9 NFL teams which preserve their history and identity, encourage people to be able to appreciate them.

It’s inevitable that fans are going to debate on a sports forum. It’s kinda why it’s here. There will never be an instance where everyone agrees. Isn’t it ok to question authority…to ask why this or that decision was made? We’re passionate fans. We all care about our team. It’s why we are here. We all have opinions. If you don’t agree with an opinion…ignore it. But it should NEVER be shunned. As of today…this is still the USA.

I spend 85% of my life treading the waters of and engaging with people politically through union work, carefully navigating with a cool head and constant nuance, self-critique, etc.

Sports is the one time I get to turn all that off. I openly will debate, potentially callously (not often), I will gladly hate your team for absolutely no legit reason other than they're not the Patriots/Celtics/Red Sox, I will laugh at your losses, I will contradict myself with love (ie: hating a player and calling him dirty when he plays for one team, but then ardently deny any dirtiness if he comes to our team)

That's why, even when some people here get a bit confrontational here, I don't mind. Sports should not matter as much as they do (financially, politically), they're fun games and they bring people together, and you get to be a goof yourself. Honestly, people trying to be perfect around sports makes less and less sense to me. The last thing I'm gonna say on my deathbed is "God I'm so happy I kept a cool head about those ****hole cash-grab garbage-ass bland jerseys"

And I hope Goblin says on his own bed "**** those guys I'll never not stand up for the Nor'Easter jerseys" lmao.

Helmets are ok now that I’ve seen them somewhere other than that crappy video. But everything else has to go. Like someone else said it looks muted. Definitely need more red in our unis. Red is an aggressive color and we need more of it. Not this almost powdery blue gray lameness.

I think they were going for dark and stormy but I immediately went looking for a better picture.

Think you’re spot on but they failed miserably. From my time living in MA, when a NorEasta came…it sure didn’t look like those colors…maybe a darker bluegray would be better. Those just look like an overcast day lol.

Oh I wish. I wonder what they get paid. Its gotta be pretty good.

I’m sure it’s either some intern or h.s kids photoshop skills they used. And probably got swag for pay….

That was me that originally said that. This is just for an excuse for the NFL to cash in like the NBA does with those hideous "city" jerseys. The young millennials, Gen Z and Alpha love these mash ups.
I'd say half the population of New York had no problem with Soylent Green being made out of people.

I'm not surprised. Every generation isn't going to understand the next generation. I'm sure the older generation hated the 90's Flying Elvis look when I was a teenager when these had it's final look in 1995. I loved them.
And they have never even once been worn as a throwback.

We suffer together, brother.

Kraft spends a lot of money for this.

Reminds me of those promotional films of the Japanese -American concentration camps depicting them as fun summer camps.

An homage to fishermen….oh that’s golden…next up a name change….the New England Scallops! Can have a huge shucked scallop on the helmet…

Like you can even see the netting unless you’re up close. Ohhhh maybe it’s the netting RK likes his escorts to wear and not fishing at all! Fishnet stockings!

I think Bob was involved in the selection (by a handful of old men) of the flying elvis, he kept it when he bought the team less than a year later and has spent countless $millions promoting it for over thirty years now. It's always been painful to look at and to date, the Patriots have made the same number of Super Bowl appearances looking like themselves as the Jets.
