I come from the land of Live Free or Die. No black and white justwhite (wait, did I say that outloud?)an Old Man in the Mountain.
Well, you know, they didn't destroy the lives of and imprison at gunpoint for years any assimilated, multigenerational, English speaking, loyal, hard working German-American citizen families under the suspicion of being spies.Let me have a go at translating:
Followed by:
Something... something... Media/Ben Dreith. Something... something... Sullivans
Closing out:
DOUG FLUTIE!!!
Need the new owner to belatedly, mercifully do the same to the flying elvis.Bro, that Old Man is in the mountain now instead of on it 'cause he fell and ain't never gettin' up. Which if you think about it gives whole new meaning to that 'free or die' thing
(I can sorta relate)
That he also just happened to be a local kid and local college Heisman winning hero makes it even more egregious.OUR Doug = 'Murica!
You commie!
The flying elvis is nothing but a punch in the face to anyone and everyone who worked for, supported and rooted for the Patriots for 33 years, as well as anyone sighted.I like a good punch in the face on occasion…it keeps me honest.
Because Pat the Patriot brought us so much winning. Right or wrong…the Flying Elvis symbolizes Dynasties. I like Dynasties. The flying elvis is nothing but a punch in the face to anyone and everyone who worked for, supported and rooted for the Patriots for 33 years, as well as anyone sighted.
One of the best retro logos in sports. I don't understand the logic of the family saying it's illegible for the afar. I understand the floating heads were popular, but that design was very odd. And the Pats uniforms since 2000 have been like the Rams identity crisis with the white helmets on their current uniforms at the time in 2017.The flying elvis is nothing but a punch in the face to anyone and everyone who worked for, supported and rooted for the Patriots for 33 years, as well as anyone sighted.
I think so, especially for the younger generations, not just because the Pats won with it, but the emphasis in our culture and society today is to win above all else.Because Pat the Patriot brought us so much winning. Right or wrong…the Flying Elvis symbolizes Dynasties. I like Dynasties.
It’s inevitable that fans are going to debate on a sports forum. It’s kinda why it’s here. There will never be an instance where everyone agrees. Isn’t it ok to question authority…to ask why this or that decision was made? We’re passionate fans. We all care about our team. It’s why we are here. We all have opinions. If you don’t agree with an opinion…ignore it. But it should NEVER be shunned. As of today…this is still the USA.
I think they were going for dark and stormy but I immediately went looking for a better picture.
Oh I wish. I wonder what they get paid. Its gotta be pretty good.
I'd say half the population of New York had no problem with Soylent Green being made out of people. That was me that originally said that. This is just for an excuse for the NFL to cash in like the NBA does with those hideous "city" jerseys. The young millennials, Gen Z and Alpha love these mash ups.
Kraft spends a lot of money for this. This explanation is awesome.
And they have never even once been worn as a throwback.I'm not surprised. Every generation isn't going to understand the next generation. I'm sure the older generation hated the 90's Flying Elvis look when I was a teenager when these had it's final look in 1995. I loved them.
I feel like I just read the menu at an upscale, high end restaurant that serves feces and urine. This explanation is awesome.

Reminds me of those promotional films of the Japanese -American concentration camps depicting them as fun summer camps.
I think Bob was involved in the selection (by a handful of old men) of the flying elvis, he kept it when he bought the team less than a year later and has spent countless $millions promoting it for over thirty years now. It's always been painful to look at and to date, the Patriots have made the same number of Super Bowl appearances looking like themselves as the Jets.An homage to fishermen….oh that’s golden…next up a name change….the New England Scallops! Can have a huge shucked scallop on the helmet…
Like you can even see the netting unless you’re up close. Ohhhh maybe it’s the netting RK likes his escorts to wear and not fishing at all! Fishnet stockings!
Sorry, to me they were nice only if you hated those teams. The 1997 Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were also nice re-designs.
