NEW ARTICLE: Belichick ‘Still Pissed’ About Mac Jones Going ‘Outside the Building’ For Help in 2022

Meh. This is a typical off season non-story, you're right. Chris Sims sucks, he's not unlike Felger. With that said, I don't doubt that Bill, being a military type guy, would be pissed that someone or someoneS went outside the chain of command. Can we draw from the intimation that the QB room, or at least Mac and Hoyer, went outside the organization and now Hoyer isn't here, but Mac is a 1st round pedigree and on a rookie deal, so he has value? Maybe. I can see that Bill would be irate that things aren't kept in house, no matter how eff'd up the situation was. I guess if they deal Mac we will know for certain, but my guess is that Bill is 71 and Mac is going to be here longer than Bill is at this point.

The whole thing just shows me how untenable the 2022 situation was, and how Bill eff'd it up royally. I think he very much underestimated what needed to be done offensively, and over estimated what JJ/FM could do. I still think that they wanted BoB, had a wink and a handshake deal that he'd join when his deal in Alabama was up, and JJ/FM were here to keep the seat warm. I think RKK signed off, and everyone thought how bad can it be? That includes RKK. All of this chit in the media is just that; chit. RKK knew what Bill was doing, and no one dreamed it's would be as ****ed up as it turned out. My guess is under BoB, the offense is going to be productive at the levels we are accustomed to seeing, giving BB more time to be involved on D and ST. I would expect us to see a much more Patriot like performance, at least when it comes to how they look like they are the team that is superiorly coached.

Yet we were literally one play away from the playoffs...and I think Mac started to find his stride by the end of the season.

The reality here is more that PLAYERS make plays...and we just don't have more than a handful guys who can turn a game around..if even a handful... TB was so great that he carried us to a 12-5 record in his final season here all by himself basically...when we had TB, Gronk, Edelman, Hightower, DMac, Gilmore, etc...we didn't need everybody to step up...just a handful..we could play with a huge margin of error.

But yeah I agree...BB didn't like **** getting outta the locker room...but he isn't dumb..Mac has the skills to be a NFL QB and now BB has hired a real OC while putting Matty P in the wind...that is what BB is good at...cutting bait or going back to the drawing board. The definition of insanity is todo the same thing over and over with the same results....

If you're talking about Mike Florio, he's the owner of PFT - Pro Football Talk. I met him at a friend's celebration party once. He might come off as a bit arrogant in person, but I guess that's just his personality.

Whether you like the news or not. It does seem like there's a definite rift between BB and Mac Jones. It's reasonable that BB would feel salty about Mac Jones going behind his back to talk to other coaches. Then again it's also BB who put Mac Jones in a bad position in the first place by putting Matt Patricia and Joe Judge in charge of the offense for 2022.

The thing is that BB has connections, if you're gonna chat up the football coaches at Alabama to complain about your current situation, it's gonna get back to BB.
But you see, I can see him being VERY salty at some of the ways Mac dealt with his frustrations last season. Some, quite frankly, were less than the professional we HOPE he becomes in the future. But again, that was LAST year and the beauty of a new season of team building is EVERYONE who is on the team starts fresh for good and bad.

As Judon has been often quoted, the best players play and who is best is shown at TC, the practice field and on game days. So I don't care if Mac has the total confidence of Bill Bellichick in the beginning of April. What I DO know is that he will start the QB who plays the best over the course of the OTA's,, TC and preseason games. I EXPECT it to be Mac Jones, but I don't get a vote.

Bill will judge Mac and make his decision based on what happens THIS preseason and NOT on what happened next year. So in the first week of April, I could give 2 ****s about anyone's SPECULATION and attempts to read into what Bill or Kraft say or don't say about Mac or any other player. Jobs have to be EARNED on the field and not in broadcast booths or message boards..

As an aside, this kind of speculation and "reading between the lines" kind of discussion reminds me of my college days back on the mid 60's. I was a PoliSci Major and it was still in the middle of cold war and the start of the Viet Nam War. We would argue for days about what it meant at the May day parades in Moscow and Beijing about who was standing where in the leaders box and what it meant to future policies, etc, etc. This is much the same thing. Interesting conjecture, but in the end meaning very little in the great scheme of things.

This made me laugh. I'm not sure if you were trying to be funny or not, but that is my type of humor. I'm not sure one should act arrogant and then get a free pass. At some point you have call it like you see it. I don't know this Florio d-bag, but after seeing that video I know I will not seek out his pro football opinion ever again. It's kind of like saying, "He might come off as an insufferable idiot, but it's just his personality", "He might come off as a racist a-hole, but it's just his personality'. Unacceptable behavior should be called out as such.

If Bill really released hoyer because he dare push back against the garbage put on the field last year or is still pissed at Mac Jones because of the same.

Then it might be near time for Bill to retire or go elsewhere.

If anything he should be pissed at himself for putting 2 unqualified buffoons into roles they couldn't do and jettison a year of his rookie QBs career.

And perhaps those changes were with BOB's eventual arrival in mind.
Idk. That thing looked nothing like a BOB offense or any other kind of offense. Van Joseph was right. It looked like a defensive guy coaching offense, which is exactly what it was.

Corky is a snowflake.

Belichick needs to get up to the times. The days of tough men are over. Today you're dealing with sensitive wine cooler guys who like to go out shoe shopping at the mall. Shoes are a big deal for guys these days. You need a pair for every outfit. Yall saw Corky going down to the locker room vs the Ravens. It looked like they busted his leg half in two. Nope. Never in my days watching NFL football have a seen a puxxy like Mac.

Joe Thiesman had a compound fracture laying on the field which means your leg bone is sticking out of your skin. He yelled at the NY Giants that he would be back.

Hoyer sucked, he was never quite good enough and now he is old and less good. Most posters here thought he was here as more of a coach then a player. When he got his chance to play he got hurt. If the "journalists" LOL are correct and he was *****ing about the coaches then perhaps he didn't understand why he was there. Sucking and *****ing isn't a good way to keep your 3rd string qb roll. Trying to make his cut as anything less than he is old and sucks is just throwing crap against the wall.

And he didn't come back. Lot of real tough guys who post here from their mother's basements who are happy to critisize players who get hurt, while they sit their lard asses in the chair and remember back to how tough they were in peewee football.

Florio is all about getting clicks and views and comments for PFT and for NBC. When it comes to the Patriots it's almost a guarantee he'll get a lot of them. If they let all comments through instead of filtering them out I bet Patriots articles would dominate the top 10 most commented every week.

Where there's smoke there's fire. BB still giving the huge 'No Confidence' vote to Mac Jones.

Here's more discussion about BB's reticence to name Mac Jones the starter. You get the feeling he definitely doesn't love Mac Jones as his starting QB.

If that was true IMO they either would have made a move already (Lamar or Jimmy) or they're picking a QB early in the coming draft.

If Corky broke his leg they would need to send the hearse on the field.

That's your hero.

Kraft is probably still pissed that the "schmuck" had cameras pointed where it technically shouldn't have. The world keeps spinning.

Lol, he isn't my hero, I actually think Zappe out performed him last year. I hope they both do amazingly well in preseason this year and it is a tough decision for the coaches to choose who to go with.

Thank you...that may have been the best thing Curran has ever wrote....

Nothing wrong with 6th-period study hall if you have a 7th-period test or want to knock off homework from one or two of your previous 5 classes...

But that scenario could have and should have happened at the end of TC... Why now?

Why wait till then? Hoyer's ceiling is QB3 and the Patriots can find a project who can do that.

Why wait? Because they're paying him $1.4M Guaranteed, that's why... Let him be a Camp Arm, THEN cut him.

I am hoping Hoyer decides to retire THEN spill the beans....

Are we really using the fact that a washed up never was, was cut before the draft as some big cover up everyone hates Bill thing. God you guys are really stretching for this one. Maybe it was , he sucks

During the Brady era...I would count the # of Patriots items in PFT's top 10 daily....

It was never less than 3 items...
