Moss post-game [mergedx3]

Re: Verbatim: Randy Moss

Why is the media focusing on his unwillingness to take questions? ESPN's crew blasted him for doing so.

Ridiculous.

Who cares who asks questions?

Moss gives reporters more meat in 5 minutes than they'll get in a lifetime from 99% of the NFL's WRs.

Stupid, these reporters make no sense. Almost like they'd rather hear themselves ask inane questions.

re: Moss post-game(merged X3)

If Randy keeps talking .... maybe the Vikes cut him in season and BB re-signs him for the playoff run?

I can hope!

The Patriots are currently last in the waiver process. I don't think that 30 teams will let Moss go by.

Does Moss have to go through Waivers? Isn't there something about years accrued there?

Edit: This:
Only players with four or fewer accrued seasons are subject to the waiver process. An "accrued season" is defined as six or more regular season games where a player is on the 53-man protected roster, injured reserve (IR), or the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Re: Verbatim: Randy Moss

Take a look at Welker's stat lines since the trade. There is plenty of value to having him here.

Plenty of value to Welker.

How about to the team?????

They're 3-0 against Balto, SD and Minn since he left.

Can someone tell me why there is so much lamentation for poor Wes' stat line from so many Patriots fans when they have done nothing but beat everyone put in front of them since the trade?

Re: Moss post-game

You should take your own advice. His behavior again today is why he will never be back. He simply doesn't get it, which is usually the problem with the thoroughly self absorbed. He'd pull this crap on this team he loves again in a heart beat because he is an emotional cripple... Bill loves the talent, likes the guy, hates the underlying pathology and knows it's beyond his control.

I think this is spot on, especially that "he would pull this crap on this team he loves again." He can't help himself. On his first meltdown this year he sounded like he put his mouth into gear and then just couldn't find the brake.

Great talent, but not so great in the self-control department. His team definitely has an "i" in it.

re: Moss post-game(merged X3)

As I recall, Moss left because he was "Unhappy" and "The business aspect of it, I've got to look out for ME and MY family". "The only thing I can do is take care of ME". He seems very paranoid. Talking about not being wanted and appreciated. I understand that he wanted a contract, but at the same time he didn't seem to give his all on the field. I think he got hasty and now he regrets it. The PC was very moving, but he brought this on himself. I'd like to see him in a NE uniform again, but he's gotta knock off the diva crap. It looks like he's pulling the same thing with the Vikes. He's an emotional Wreck.

This team is 3-0 since he left which is pointless when discussing his worth to the team because there's no way that you can possibly assign a value to an individual's impact on win/loss. The passing game is clearly worse since he's left though. There's no reason people shouldn't be allowed to acknowledge that the passing game has suffered a loss.

That being said, it's futile to start assuming where this team would be or where it's going this season if Moss weren't traded. Who knows what would have happened, all we know for sure is that our offense got worse. But the defense is playing pretty damn good, we still have talent on offense and we have TFB/BB. No one player makes or breaks this team (not even TFB).

Well your recollection is pretty piss poor terrible. He was TRADED and the guy that made the trade has not let any of us know all of the factors that lead to the trade, nor how important each was.

Edit: This:

Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, from the beginning of the waiver system each year through the trading deadline (October 20, 2009), any veteran who has acquired four years of pension credit is not subject to the waiver system if the club desires to release him. After the trading deadline, such players are subject to the waiver system.

Official 2009 NFL WAIVER system, explained. - Oakland Raiders Forum | Message Board - Where the Raider Nation lives!

I believe that the same rules regarding the post-deadline waivers apply this season.

My "piss poor recollection" are his exact quotes. So maybe you should get your facts straight. He said himself He "smelled it coming". Your saying yourself that "the guy that made the trade has not let any of us know all of the factors" So your assuming. I'm Using "factors".

You aren't making sense. Moss does not control Belichick, he did not leave, he was TRADED. It's not hard to understand. "smelled it coming" and seeing the writing on the wall do nothing for your assertions that Moss "left" for selfish "ME" reasons.

Re: Verbatim: Randy Moss

I'm pretty sure after watching the players converse with Moss before and after the game that he was a good locker room guy who was well liked by team mates. He will always be alright in my book and always be a big part of the Patriots legacy. I'm glad to have watched him perform for us for the years he did. I wish him and his family well.

re: Moss post-game(merged X3)

Everything he said reinforces how lucky we are with this present owner/coach/QB.......I hope the guys still on the team feel the same way......

I also wonder if Mankins saw the presser.....

Who knows? Those $100,000 farm tractors have all kindsa gear, maybe even a sat TV option.

And why was he traded? Soon after that PC in wk 1, it seemed eminent. He wasn't happy and let it be known. He didn't control BB, but seems to have given him no choice. Cut out the cancer. Thats my take on it, and I'll let it go at that. Peace!

re: Moss post-game(merged X3)

Ahhhh... didn't realize that. Makes sense.
Nor did I.

Maybe BB can pull a trade then for Moss. A '12 5th rounder say

Randy could do another "I only want to play for the Pats" promo package.

I don't know why he was traded, BB knows. Sorry that I don't subscribe to the "make up an answer before admitting to not knowing" way of thinking.

re: Moss post-game(merged X3)

This is what you accuse him off even though he had publicly stated that he wanted to retire a Patriot and that money wasn't an issue? Jeez! Wonder what your take on Mankins is.

And correct me if I am wrong - didn't Moss adjust his contract for a lower amount even earlier?

Instead of "nothing else", you could have been more objective by mentioning more plausible reasons such as insecurity, lack of response from the FO etc. But then, no way we can expect fans to be rational when they already dislike a player intensely.

This. Funny how some fans who constantly pat themselves on the back for supposedly being objective, then act like trolls and post nonsense when it comes to certain players they dislike.

We know that Moss wanted to remain a Patriot. We know he wanted a long-term deal. We know the Pats weren't prepared to give it to him, and he started biatching about it.

Probably a mistake which we know he regrets now, but to hate on him for anything [other than expressing that he wanted to stay here but he saw the writing on the wall] is idiotic.

Hopefully the Pats will give him a chance to back up his words by offering him a 1 year deal next year we'll get to see what he does.

Might have been said already, but anyone notice how difficult it's been for Welker to get open underneath now that Moss is gone? Anyone notice that Merriweather was playing 25 yards off the LOS on Moss's side and that was opening up huge holes for underneath routes, screens and running plays for Minn.?

Trade deadline has been passed. Moss will be a free agent at the end of the season, barring a contract extension being signed with the Vikings, because the Vikings agreed to remove the franchise tag option when they traded for Moss.
