Agholor and Smith were the two bad contracts.

I disagree about Smith. Yes, he is expensive….but not so much relative to other TE salaries as well as the rising cap. We just need to use him more to get a bang for our bucks.

He’s been in the league six years. And no one has been able to exploit his ability. It’s not like Vrabel and Robinson were dying to keep him.

Anyway, I think we can agree he isn’t good value for what he's being paid.

Looks like it’s Obreins Job to lose unless Mccardell blows them away.

Looking at this list:

The only TE's better than Henry/Smith are either on their rookie deals or to be an UFA shortly.

In a year or two, 12.5M for a TE will be super cheap.

Again, I agree...for 12.5M we should be getting at least 40 catches, 500 yards, and 4 TD's over 17 games at minimum....which is why I want Bill O'Brien!

I like Henry. Jonnu? Not so much. Not much value there.

I'm interested to see how this goes with BOB. I could see him go to the Raiders which might be the best thing. Just please no one currently in the organization

Only these dudes and not sure about that last one... @captain stone

Bill O'Brien
Kliff Kingsburry
Chad O'Shea
Adam Gase
Mike LaFleur

No to BOB and Kliff.
O'Shea makes a lot of sense, and I'm surprised he's not on any media updates for interviews.
I mentioned Mike early on, but have doubts.
Why not try Darrell Bevell or Mike McCoy?

I think those 2 aren't bad choices...they were not on my radar. What's important to me is experience and being able to back that up when talking to Bill...it's why I have BOB and Kliff high on my list. Kubiak is too long in the tooth and not relatable to younger players IMO. Adding your 2...

Bill O'Brien
Kliff Kingsburry
Chad O'Shea
Darrell Bevell
Mike McCoy

Before he decided to board the Thailand Express, I thought the OC gig was Kliffy's to lose... Still not sure if I prefer him to BOB, but it's close either way.

I'd like to hear O'Shea's version about what went wrong in Miami, because otherwise he checks a couple of boxes too.

Pass on Googly; and LaFleur might not be the right man right now... An experienced hand I believe is what's really needed here to fix all that needs fixin.'

I like the additions of Bevell & McCoy... I'm not even dreaming about the next great offensive Genius or anything: I just want someone from Outside the building (and yes, O'Brien has been gone long enough that he counts as kinda, sorta being from the Outside now) who has had both experience and success elsewhere in salvaging an offense & building a staff, yet has at least a professional understanding of E-P and of what if any of it can be used to help our QBs.

My very first choice would be Steve Sarkisian, but he's not leaving Austin unless it's for an NFL HC gig, or until he gets fired... He coached Mac for two years, longer than any of his other OCs have, pro or college, so far...

Nonsense.

We've been over this.

When Gilmore was gone, he cost the Patriots $12.4m. He wasn't even on the team. He gave us nothing for that $12.4m.

Same with Donte Hightower. Cost us $10.3m after his last season. $10.3m for ZERO production.

If you're not accounting for this money and averaging it to the total, you have no clue how the cap works.

You can pay a player $6m one year and $16m the next, but in no one's mind but yours does that make the player a $16m a year player.
Hightower’s contract expired he did not have a cap hit and not play.
A hit like Gilmore’s when a player is traded isn’t for that year it’s what’s left over from what you deferred from the years he was here.

Nick Caley being a McDaniels disciple would have ran something similar to what McDaniels ran. So Mac would have been more comfortable and familiar BB didn't do him any favors with the current made up cast.

I don't want Nicky Slappy as our OC... I don't want him as even our TEs coach... I don't want him in the building At All.

It's time to bring Professionalism back to the coaches' room at One Patriot Place... Daddy Day Care time should be declared Officially Ovah.

What’s wrong with Caley other than the fact that he May interview with the Jets?

Why?

Is there all kinds of media hubbub regarding Troy Brown and his desire for another role, more responsibilities, looking at other more responsibility jobs across the league? Is there any reason he can't be content in his current role, looking forward to next year?

Or is it just more "smear" tactics without any basis that's entirely circumstantial in nature? Tear the man down!

More mob/twitter mentality..."while we're guillotining Patricia and Judge, let's get Caley and Brown up there too..."

Well if you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem; so...
