Josh McD: “I need to get Harry the ball more often”

Plot twist: Rex Burkhead is our best back...

Jk..these debates are silly. None of our running backs are doing well right now and a lot of it isn't due to talent, but just the whole unit feeling the trickle effects of : injuries, new faces, and the loss of the greatest offensive force in recent history (Gronk).

I will say I'm dissapointed in Michel, not writing him off but I thought hed offer a little more than he has had.

Harry got IR'd to open a roster spot with a minor injury because he is not good. They do this stuff all the time with rookies that aren't ready. Kind of a bad sign when it's your first rounder though.

Fire our WR Scouts

Are you referring to the pass by White to MEYERS, or the flea flicker to EDELMAN?

Getting open every game.

Edelman 12 targets - 8 receptions - 95 yards
White 7 targets - 5 receptions - 27 yards

The Freeloaders

Harry 1 target - 1 reception - 12 yards.
Meyers 3 targets - 1 reception - 35 yards

These guys were hardly top WRs. Ok so that's your expectation for Harry, to be a 4th WR. Okay.

You didn't initially say "top" receiver; you said "good" receiver.

All 3 of those guys were perfectly good receivers here.

And I never said my expectation for Harry is for him to be a 4th WR - I'd appreciate it if you didn't put words in my mouth.

It would help if Harry actually knew what he was supposed to be doing.

Harry is a get the ball in his hands and he'll make a play type of guy. He wasn't drafted for his polished route running.

Time to face facts:

Harry is slow.
Harry needs an hour to get in and out of cuts.
Harry runs at least two out of three routes wrong.

do how do we combat this:

we have to limit Harry’s route tree, slants, crossing routes and come back routes.
We have to run pick plays to help Harry get open.
We have to put Harry in a position to win, where he can use his size to shield defenders from the ball.

1. When Harry took that in for the TD, the TD that wasn't. I don't think anyone thought "that guy's slow".
2. As Harry missed much of the season, a critical and important thing for rookies, we actually have little sample size to know exactly what his "cuts" capability is.
3. You don't know what percentage of his route running is incorrect
Also: you don't know how many times, when he has played, he's been the primary target. And I'm betting you haven't watched all the film to see on pass plays he's on the field what has happened.

The reality is it may be he is not ready, he may also ultimately be a bust, he may also simply not being used best at this stage of his development, he may be affected by his prior injury, or maybe it just simply hasn't clicked yet at the pro level. The sample size is too small to know yet. What can be said positively for Harry is his last two possessions were TDs (without BS officiating) and on both TDs he used size and speed to make those TDs happen. So some of this. maybe, is on JM and BB to use Harry in a way that allows him to be productive right now. So despite your statements the reality is still a ?? (as the whole O is struggling maybe Harry, a late coming rookie, would struggle too)

Patterson ran a 4.42 and Harry ran a 4.52, that's not a very big difference.

Antonio Brown ran a 4.5 so is he too slow as well? I'm pretty sure everyone has been begging the Patriots to resign him.
