While he hasn’t played well, he’s probably at least a couple of steps up on the rookie who’d have been taking his place. As you said, it probably won’t matter anyway, although I was hoping that he may have been limited next week, as well.
According to the PIT media, JAX RB Fournette has averaged just 3.12 ypc over his last 5 regular season games and 2.71 ypc during last week’s WC game vs BUF.
It appears as though he’s hit the rookie wall, with a report that he’s told several people close to him that he’s tired. Not sure if it’s true or not, but he definitely isn’t the same player that he was earlier in the year.
Just can’t see how Jacksonville has any realistic shot at scoring enough points, here.
Stephon Tuitt claims that his elbow injury was very minor and that he could’ve practiced today, if needed. Claimed that he’ll be back at practice tomorrow and without limitation on Sunday.
Artie Burns says that he’ll definitely be playing on Sunday, as well.
I am probably going to get dislikes again, bt I think it is in our best interests to have Pittsburgh win. Jacksonville has a legit defense, a good running back, and a average qb and passing game. But they seem as well coached as they can be... meaning they are getting the most of what they can get. This reminds me the GD Ravens teams that gave us fits. Conversely Pittsburgh has shown us flashy offense, terrible defense, and a coaching staff that is clueless.
I would rather roll my die against the clueless coaching staff.
here's hoping a Jags D lineman rips Rapistburger's pr!ck off and shoves it down his ****in' throat....goddamned rapist sonovabiatch should have been offed a decade ago.

Let me clarify it for you...I espouse the ripping off of Rottercrapburger's johnson and the subsequent super gluing of said appendage in Big Rapist's mouth whereupon he is positioned beneath a 20 ton wrecking ball and squashed like the ****in' bug rapist he is...clear enough?

Agreed. They are terrible at that part of the game. Undisciplined and ill prepared.
That said, good talent can take you pretty far, too, so they’re still a threat based on that alone. That’s not even bringing into account that I think the Jags are a mediocre team with a good defense, but I think they’re more of a 9-7 team than they were a 10-6 team. We’ll see if the Steelers belief that they can simply show up on Sunday works or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they won by 17 or something.
Right, but I think it’s been slowly tapering off the past 6 games or so and one would assume that PIT is simply going to stack the box and force Bortles to try and throw the ball in the cold.
This game has all the makings of an upset. Stout defense and ground game going in relatively healthy going against a home team that hasn't played meaningful football in a couple of weeks while being distracted by both an opponent that they're not playing this week on top of the contract situation of its star RB. I think that, offensively, if the Jags can even get to 20 points, they're coming to Foxboro for the AFCCG.
Of course, the wild card is Bortles. I thought he choked last week in the biggest game of his career. Hackett gave him a lot of easy routes early on and his receivers WERE open all over the field, but he missed a couple of throws early on and was clearly rattled after that. He has been rattled ever since Clowney called him "trash". I think in this game, the Jags need to stick to the ground game on first and second down and keep him in third and short for some easy throws and conversions. The Steelers will load the box early on in the game so I think you'll see a play or two in the first quarter where Westbrook/Cole/Lee hits their man with a double move and Bortles uncorks on deep to try and get that safety out of the box.

I agree . I was wondering to myself and then thought I’d float the idea here of what B.B. would do to a player here if he was on tv before a playoff game whining about a contract and threatening to retire if he didn’t get what he wants?
I think they’d be suiting up in the mistake on the lakes uniform quite soon
There's a guy in my unit who is huge Jax fan and he was pretty damned confident before the season started about their chances; he was quiet all year last year. He's going to Pittsburgh to watch the game; he feels pretty sure they're going to win.
For me, it's a push. It'll come down to who ****s up less.

Agree, i just don’t see how pitt will be that careless with the ball again now that they know jax better, which is the main reason jax won meeting one. Ben basically just has to protect the ball, bortles is worthless so they could stack the box if need be. Dont see jax topping 10-14 points which the steelers get easily if ab is in any way effective
