If bortles was a decent QB he would shred that defense but he likely might not even break 100 yards again. That's embarrassing.

The last two games without Shazier Pitt has given up 102 and 125 rushing yards. It’s not like those teams have dynamic offense and they don’t have the backs Jacksonville has.

I am probably going to get dislikes again, bt I think it is in our best interests to have Pittsburgh win. Jacksonville has a legit defense, a good running back, and a average qb and passing game. But they seem as well coached as they can be... meaning they are getting the most of what they can get. This reminds me the GD Ravens teams that gave us fits. Conversely Pittsburgh has shown us flashy offense, terrible defense, and a coaching staff that is clueless.

I would rather roll my die against the clueless coaching staff.

I’d rather see our defense shut JAX down and “only” score/win 26-13, 20-10, or something like that. The easier matchup has got to be the Jaguars, even if they play tough defense. We’ve seen plenty of them all year long.

This is the whole GB/SEA debate all over again. Like before, I’d much rather put it in the hands of our offense than rely on the defense to stop a high powered attack. Why try to win in a shootout?

Given the QB (Bortles), Tuitt would probably be the bigger loss for this week's game.


But, yeah, at least judging by sports talk radio, it's more important to find out whether or not Brady shed a tear when JAG got traded.

The loss of Tuitt would be enormous, particularly if it lingered into next week’s hypothetical matchup. Still miffed that we didn’t draft him, but that’s a whole different conversation, altogether.

I’m hearing that there was no structural damage in terms of Burns’ injury, but in a shortened season of only 1-2-3 games, that could prove to be irrelevant with an MCL or even PCL sprain. Expecting that we’ll hear more in the coming day or two.

The loss of Tuitt could be huge, but the fact that he’s in a sling makes the situation difficult to predict in terms of the severity of the injury. We could be looking at 0 games missed or he could be out for the rest of the year. I suppose that’s the same with Burns and many other injuries this time of year.

If Tuitt's in a sling, even if he plays, he won't be 100%. Again, going back to your point about the shortened season.

Just a follow up since I scrolled past this post again just now. I think a strong argument could be made in certain years where the defense has been stronger such as 2014. Also, a lack of offense is what often does this team in during big postseason games, so I certainly understand the logic.

I suppose that I still have some reservations about our defense this year in terms of stopping high powered offenses like Pittsburgh, New Orleans (current), and even maybe Atlanta, too. With the emergence of a running game and a hopeful return to health from some guys like Hogan and Burkhead, I think I’d prefer to face teams like JAX, and potentially MIN as alternatives.

Steelers cornerback Artie Burns hurt his knee during Wednesday’s practice, but he gave a positive update about his condition on Thursday.

Burns said, via Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, that he hyperextended his knee. Burns said that he will be limited in practice on Thursday, but that he expects he’ll be well enough to play against the Jaguars on Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh’s first playoff game of the year.

I think he's very overrated. If jags had a QB they could go after him in the passing game.
