Is the brady vs belichick debate ruining this board or is it just me?

All due respect to these people, I'm not going to believe it for the simple reason that if Belichick were this weak, he never would have gotten to where it is. Extremely hard to believe. But it's not in Patriot Reign?
The story from Skip Bayles was not in Patriot Reign. Skip revealed this during the time Bill was being dragged through the mud during the 2020 season.

I don’t recall the Westhoff story being in Patriot Reign, but it has been mentioned by a few on this board.

Here’s a question for the posters that lived in Boston during this time, was there anyone in the local media thinking Bill was on the hot seat after the 2000 season?

Pete Carroll got 3 years with each year declining more than the other. The team was clearly gutted in 2000, so expectations couldn’t have been that high. With that being said, I would think Kraft may have pulled the plug had they had 3 consecutive losing seasons after the 2002 season ended.

@Joker was around back then and blogging. He probably started the rumor in an attempt to get back his favorite HC Pete the Cleaner Carroll.

I don't think Kraft would have pulled the plug even after two losing seasons but he'd have been watching the radar for another direction in year three. It's all moot however because of the single greatest player in Patriot history that never played a snap for the R,W&B...Mo Lewis

Brady is still a POS. He just proved that with his unretirement claim during a war that is killing babies. He needs so much attention. I sincerely hope his body see lots of pounding attention when he returns to play. A couple of broken legs would be a good message. Stay well yourself.

It's ruining the game, and it has been since 2017.

Imagine the things one will do for attention, huh?

As long as I've been here there's always been a few contrarian posters who turn every thread into an argument. They can't let anything go, and always have to have the last word. They can't even debate in a civil manner, it's all smug passive aggressive, glib shot taking. It's tiresome.

Oftentimes I would disagree strongly with something someone posts, so I'll offer my take and leave it at that. But certain posters seem to think they are infallible and any disagreement with their point of view is taken personally and same old tiresome, petty back and forth drowns out any reasonable discussion.

The NFC is weak.

My prediction is that Brady will make it to the 2022 Super Bowl, but lose to the AFC team. And, that AFC team will be the Buffalo Bills. Bradys final NFL game will be a gut wrenching loss where he makes history for all the wrong reasons as the losing QB in the Buffalo Bills first ever NFL world championship.

I liked Brady when he was the humble goat that was focused on this team, he has morphed into a narcissist who craves for attention... the timing is very calculated when he dumps some news about him. Thought he was going to walk away this year instead of possibly being carted away, but no his incessant need for attention trumps all.

Brady vs. Belichick would be simple if Football was mano a mano, but as there is dependency on a lot of other guys and coaching this inane, never ending argument will continue..

But I suspect it is progress as we are no longer arguing about another inane, neverending argument: "Did BB lie to Drew by allegedly telling him he would be the starting QB after he recovered from his injury"?? That only took about 15 years...

Despite what has been said, the fuel for this fire will be provided by Felger, Bertram and several sports talk radio crap stirrers, who know controversy feeds their ratings..

Shut up you pathetic loser

The easiest is just to hit the ignore button at the top of the thread, and then it will be gone.

I haven’t been able to get my ignore list to work for a long time, otherwise the trolls like Venecol would have been on it long ago.

Don't let the door hit your fat ass on the way out.

I know it hurts you that every study of internet trolls has concluded that they suffer from serious mental illness, but it what it is. You should try to get out of your parents basement and get some help with your issues. Spending all your time trying to aggravate others may make you feel better temporarily, but it’s a terrible way to live your life.

And once again Venecol has absolutely nothing to show for his valiant stance of standing up to the non existent Brady Bashers. Fighting the brave fight against non existent foes.

"I'm not saying my wife's fat but...last she sat down and didn't have a lap...*rimshot*...Joe "Shecky" Kerr....here all year, try the fossilized saltimbocca ...

I mentioned it earlier, but I still feel like the Manning/Dungy comparison is relevant here when it comes to discussing the importance of both a great QB and great coaching. I'm pretty sure even Brady wouldn't have won 6 titles in Indy under Dungy, and I think when you look at other great QBs who won just one ring or came up short, coaching does play such a big role. But I think those two in Indy are probably the best examples of how important it is to have both to become as dominant as Brady and Bill were together here.

yeah but let's get to the REAL question of the ages here...who was the better general...Robert E. Lee or George Patton???

Hysterical(sic) Jokers wanna know...

This confuses me, tbh. What did Dungy do - specifically - that prevented Manning from winning championships?

Manning would not have won any championships in Indy (or Denver) without exceptional defense that one year. In the 2006 postseason, he won a Super Bowl with the worst playoff QB rating ever, a touchdown-less game against Baltimore. In 3 of 4 games, the Colts defense allowed 17 points or less.

Dungy inherited a losing team in Tampa Bay and led them to 5 winning seasons in 6 years with bad quarterbacks.

The Colts won at least 12 games for six consecutive seasons and 10 games in the first one.

Overall, Dungy's teams went at least .500 for 12 straight seasons, 11 of which were over .500.

Dungy is in the Hall of Fame.

I think so much of this is revisionism and perception. No, there's no way I'd want Dungy over Belichick. But in what objective way is Dungy a handicap, especially when we saw Manning had the exact same choking problems at UT and Denver. The biggest difference between those Colts teams and Patriots teams is their quarterback play down the stretch, in the biggest moments when facing elimination. The Patriots were better than the Colts overall, but not every year, and the gap wasn't so great. The Colts biggest problem was their superstar QB playing like a risk-averse journeyman when the lights were bright.
