This is a weird story. Seahawks could conceivably tag him twice before his price tag is out of control (roughly 52 million). Seems like his wife wants him to head to the Meadowlands
OK Cousins, this is a 'tease" for my 10th annual DW Toys "Trade-A-Rama" but it makes sense.
What we know:
The Hawks are in CAP hell. They are at $10,897mm.
Wilson CAP is $25mm
Frank Clark CAP is $17mm (more on that later)
Wilson wants out and has set a deadline
Schneider is desperate for picks in this Draft. They have only 4 picks in a pretty sporty Draft class.
(This almost sounds like Draft Day stuff? Where's Sonny?)
Now lets kick the tires on.............. Oakland
The Raiders are at $32,147mm
Carr has a CAP of $22mm
We know even though he praises Carr, Gruden is not necessarily tied to Carr and lip service has been underwhelming.
The Raiders also need an edge rusher.
My DW Toys"Trade-A-Rama" super-duper Trade? A shocker!
>The Raiders trade picks #4, #24 and #27 and Derek Carr
>The Seahawks trade Russell Wilson, Frank Clark and pick #21
The Hawks now have new CAP room.
The get a QB who is 4 years younger
They move a QB who wants to leave Seattle and CA and Vegas will suit Russ and the Mrs.
They have the picks to replace Clark and rebuild the sagging Defense
They could not pay for Wilson. He set a deadline.
The best they get if he leaves is a 3rd comp.
The Raiders get a top tier QB they can afford to extend right now
They get a EDGE guy they need to replace Mack
They still retain at least one first rounder
AB was best when Ben extended plays. That is what Wilson can bring to the table.
Wilson to AB? Watch out AFC West
This is a Gruden type move
OK, Take your shots.....Thoughts?
