It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I believe based on mayos post game body language and demeanor he was out likely before the game.. if schefter new about before the game Mayo likely knew...I think he was getting fired either way, at least I really hope so. As much as I wanted him gone, thatd be pretty ****ty if he got canned for not tanking a game.
I heard he didn't even talk ball when he brought in FAs... wtf...Mayo would Never be a FA lure. Better a year early than year too late.
No, I think Mayo was out the door regardless. He knew he was a goner and therefore the final act of defiance. He spit in the eye of Kraft and the fans by going hard to win a meaningless game and against the best interests of the team.Perhaps we should think ourselves lucky we won.
He and Wolf and Robyn Glaser were in those meetings. Take that for what it's worth.I heard he didn't even talk ball when he brought in FAs... wtf...
As I've said before, the reason they were in position for the #1 pick in the first place is because of his incompetence over the previous 17 weeks. I can't imagine a scenario where a loss to BUF would've made Kraft decide, "You know what, I should give Mayo a second chance."Perhaps we should think ourselves lucky we won.
How do you sell that to the players, though? "We need you to play poorly so we can draft your replacements?"No, I think Mayo was out the door regardless. You don't need to sell it to the team. It's very easy to control the outcome of a game you need to lose when you are the head coach because of the power of substitutions. How do you sell that to the players, though? "We need you to play poorly so we can draft your replacements?"
Thunder Kraft hoarded the Pats cap money adding little in FA - Osborne, Hooper and Gibson. As I've said before, the reason they were in position for the #1 pick in the first place is because of his incompetence over the previous 17 weeks. The Bills didn't try at all that game, even if we did that, good chance we still win. Milton had a great game because of who he was against. Brissett and Maye would have looked amazing that day as well. You don't need to sell it to the team. It would be very easy for Mayo to see that Milton is having a great game and sub him out at half time.
Same with any other first teamers on offense and defense. Ok you had a great first half, your place is secure, now let's audition the 2nd and 3rd string guys.
In fact Buffalo subbed in their 3rd string Quarterback which showed they were a lot more savvy about tanking the Patriots draft pick than Mayo himself. What a buffoon!
Mayo was creeping up the backstairs and lobbying for the job, he’s not the innocent babe in the woods he is pretending to be now or people are portraying him asThunder Kraft hoarded the Pats cap money adding little in FA - Osborne, Hooper and Gibson.
He let Wolfe and Groh handle the 2024 draft netting 1 player so far. The Raiders picked 13th and landed 3 starters - TE, LT, G.
Talk about a pathetic Free Agency and Draft. Stan and Ollie were allowed to keep their jobs and are currently preparing for the 2025 FA and draft. The Pats went into 2024 lacking OL and WR and the exact same applies heading into 2025.
Thunder sent Glaser over to cut NEP cost behind Mayos back.
It was agreed by all that Brisset would be the starter while Maye learned.
After Brisset lost 4 games in succession (1 - 4) it was ok for Maye to come in.
Thunder hired Mayo well aware that he had little coaching experience and then acted surprised when Mayo lost games.
People here wonder why Mayo lost so many games. Its too bad Mayo could not lay all the evidence out how Thunder screwed him and used him.

Kraft admitted that he had put Mayo in a terrible position because of Mayo being a "pne-team guy."Thunder hired Mayo well aware that he had little coaching experience and then acted surprised when Mayo lost games.
