The Patriots will enter the beginning of the 2016 season without their QB and possibly one of their starters on defense. According to Doug Kyed of NESN.com Alan Branch has told teammates that he’s being suspended. Tom Brady has already been suspended for the first four games of this season. No further details are available at this time.
Branch, 31, was a starter at the defensive tackle position in 2015 and played about 40 percent of the defensive snaps. His workload is likely to be shared by Markus Kuhn, Terrance Knighton, and rookie Vincent Valentine.
We’ll post more information as soon as it is officially released by the team.
