This is a magnificent suggestion.Meh. To satisfy the wager, just sign off on Sam Bam Cunningham and come back as TheGhostOfAndyJohnson. I hear that screen name is available.

He’s by far not one of the most egregious. No, it’s was not an emotional bet. It was a bet made after many interactions, and literally made because I feel the board it a better place without him. It has nothing to do with censoring opinions, it has everything to do with censoring attitudes, and contribution or detracting from the board.
Posting that he will honor his bet and saying this
For those here who do not get personal and welcome all viewpoints, thank you for the experience
does not show good intentions.
I made the bet because I prefer the board without his incessant negativity.
After last game of the season, I will not post on this board again.

Sam
Lets make that bet!!!
If you win I will leave the board forever
If I win you must state on this board that I have better judgment than you
I offered the bet because the incessant negativity he posts diminishes my enjoyment of the board. He accepted. Hes a grown man.
You can do you and I’m not going to stand in your way or anything. I just find the entire thing petty, that’s all. He’s not free of blame. I don’t get how a 13-4 season at worst results in constant negativity. I also think him changing the bet at the end is on him too. Though, having mercy shows character and you have a chance to do just that. However, this is between you two and I’m not going to post about it in this thread any furtherNo, it’s was not an emotional bet. Incessant negativity isn't something in which I partake, and I will generally disagree with it, even if those types had their time in the sun in 2023-2024. I actually rather enjoy the fruits of it at times. The aftermath of "I don't care. I can't stand it" is still delicious and this has been entertaining as well.
All of that said, stick around dude. Yeah, I pretty much disagree with about 80% of your posts but, personally, I deplore echo chambers.
A few things:
- Betting to leave the board is just silly and shouldn't be something people should do. I don't think Sam should have to leave and there is no way to enforce this anyway.
- Ian, provides this board for everyone. People who are homers. People who are haters or doomsayers and all in between. I don't think people should decide what content they feel is what should be on this board or not. If someone wants to come here and say the Patriots suck and they are frauds or whatever, they have a right. Ian has provided everyone tools to ignore players who post content you do not like. If Sam wants to post negative content about the Pats, he has every right as Andy has to post homer content. If they don't like each other comments, they can put each other on ignore.
Good thoughts gentlemen but a bet is a bet, unless you're Triumph of course.
Although I value loyalty and honor, I don't think handshake bets on a Internet message board raise the level of being an honor-bound.Actually, being a man of honor Sam has no choice. Unless someone who has previously shown they are honor challenged relents and shows some grace, Sam leaving is outside his control. Ironic that
Some bets are just too silly to enforce. And I wonder if Andy would have honored the bet if the Pats went 5-12.

I don't see how Andy's opinion matters. Not the first thing we've disagreed about and most likely not the last, what really matters is that we do it amicably
Of course the only opinions that count in this matter are Sam's and Andy's

I teach my grandkids to not lie and to honor the commitments they make, but I do not hold the grandkids to pinky swears.
Then why don’t you just ignore or mute him, it’s not that complicated.I offered the bet because the incessant negativity he posts diminishes my enjoyment of the board. He accepted. Hes a grown man.
Honour is a two way street.I don't see how Andy's opinion matters.
I disagreeHe’s by far not one of the most egregious.
