I think some are and some are being really irrational. I'm a late Pats fan came in right when they won thier first and I can hardly be on this board right now because of hte type of threads that are coming. The loss sucked but I'm over it. I'm not about to trash the team who got this far because they had a bad game, **** happens.

We bash Manning and the Colts for losing the same type of games. This team deserves to be bashed, and bashed a lot, for yesterday's performance.

I think a lot of people forget that parc the patriots were a laughing stock of the league like sea hawks.

Many......

Its one thing to say they sucked yesterday its another to start saying they need to get rid of contributing players on the team.

******ed. We're "spoiled" because we expect to beat a Sanchez-led team that we just beat 45-3, at home, after a week off. That goes down in my book as a huge CHOKE. And now 3 straight playoff losses... that's disgusting.

You must be a chicken little to be upset by the team losing to the Jets of all teams with there No 6 seed and all the trash talking of how they didn't care if we were 27-0 and how they would crush our wide receivers and so what that we were the No 1 seed coming off a horrible playoff loss the year before that everyone expected was an anomaly not to be seen again with A Brady & Beichick led team......and what's with the childish poll question "No, they just want what they want when they want it"?

Yup, exactly.

Moss was a contributing player on the team. Were you killing everyone who thought getting rid of him was a good idea? Did you call up BB and cuss him out over that move? How about the Seymour trade? Did you defend that move, or did you rail against Belichick for being stupid enough to make it?

Of course! I mean ************, we didn't just lose a playoff game - we lost to the fu--ing Jets of all teams with there No 6 seed and all the trash talking of how they didn't care if we were 27-0 and how they would crush our wide receivers as the No. 1 seed coming off a horrible playoff loss the year before that everyone expected was an anomaly not to be seen again with a Brady & Beichick led team! Stop minimzing what fu--ing happened yesterday - you sound like loser Colt fans.

We're not spoiled, all fanbases get angry when they lose in the fashion New England lost in in 2006, 2007 and now 2010. None of us (at least not me) was like this after the 2008 and 2009 seasons ended because it wasn't really disappointing, they played up to their potential (which wasn't very good).

Also, it's important to consider that Patriots fans take more of a beating than any other fan base in football for things like spygate, bandwagoning, tom brady being "carried by a good defense" etc. When the Buffalo Bills lose, Bills fans don't have to hear it from their friends the next day about how the Bills can't win without cameras and how the Bills are huge chokers for losing. The sh!t Patriots fans have to take from friends/coworkers/peers/etc. makes every loss seem 100x worse than what a normal loss feels like.

I don't think it is really all that fair to lump all Pats fans together like this. There is certainly a group of fans who have the "Fellowship of the Miserable" mentality where they relish in the Pats failing so they can complain. There is another segment that feel that the Pats should have 8-10 Lombardi trophies by now. Another segment of the Patriots fan base are more level headed. And yet another goes off the deep end the other way.

As I stated in another thread, Pats fans have to get used to the harsh reality that even if Belichick assembles another team that is as good as the 2004 team, there are no guarantees that the Pats ever win another Super Bowl ever again. Year after year, the best team doesn't always win the Super Bowl. Neither does the best coached team. There are so many factors that go into winning a championship and not all of them are within a team's control.

If you cannot deal with that reality as a Pats fan, I would suggest you stop rooting for sports. Even if Belichick hits on every draft pick and free agent and comes up with near perfect gameplans game after game, we may never see the Pats win the Super Bowl again. And every team are in that same situation.

okay lol

Its sorta frustrating to watch the jets over the years sign great free agents while the patriots are searching the bargain store for over the hill players that they think maybe they can get something from.

WHY ARE THE PATRIOTS TRYING TO WIN LIKE RAYS? DO NO FREE AGENTS WANT TO PLAY FOR THE PATS?

Again with the baseball analogy. It's like comparing apples to oranges and the Rays never won anything. Contrary to popular belief the pats have gone after players whether it was through free-agency like Adalius Thomas, Rosey Colvin or via trade like Randy Moss and Wes Welker.

Of pahleese...stop trying to inject rationality into the argument. :ugh:

Because we behave like arrogant pricks in bashing other teams means we have to act like entitled pricks in bashing our own when they let us down and open up us to ridicule from the 31 other idiot fan bases who hate us in part because our team has won so much and in part because we behave like arrogant pricks as a result. GET WITH THE PROGRAM BUDDY.

The loss yesterday was very tough to take for all of us, considering it was our most hated rival. But I think the franchise is still on the right path and will be a championship contender for the several years. But maybe we should expect more than that, afterall we are Patriots fans.
Losing to the Ravens last year and the manner in which the Patriots lost in the first round of the AFC Playoffs was an eye opener. However, when you look at the defensive starters last year and the roster changes from 2009 to 2010, one can understand the need for change. Gone from the defensive roster were Adalius Thomas, Derrick Burgess, Jarvis Green, and Shawn Springs. The four aforementioned players were on their last legs as evident by the fact none of these players logged any minutes in 2010.

As for the 2010 NFL season, the New England Patriots made serious considerations to upgrade the defense with youth. McCourty, Spikes, Cunningham, Deaderick should be better in 2011 than 2010 with a year's experience under their collective belts. In addition, Brace and Chung made great strides in their sophomore season both logging significant minutes. Darius Butler was the only major disappointed from the 2009 NFL draft class since he seriously regressed in 2010. Hopefully, Butler will rebound in 2011. Leigh Bodden and Ty Warren should return for the 2011 NFL season and the defense should be better with the presence of those two players.

However, the youth movement on defense still requires another defensive lineman and 3-4 outside linebackers. Marcell Dareus from Alabama would be a great first round draft selection however he may not be available at the 17th pick in the first round. The New England Patriots need 3-4 outside linebackers who can set the edge in the running game while applying pressure on the quarterback in the passing game. Jeremy Beal from Oklahoma and/or Sam Acho from Texas could be welcome additions to the 2011 Patriots defense.

Tully Banta-Cain, who turns 32 years of age prior to the 2011 NFL season, and Eric Moore, who turns 30 years of age prior to the 2011 NFL season, are not the long term solutions at the 3-4 outside linebacker positions.

With regard to the divisional playoff game against the NY Jets, I was emotionally and mentally unprepared for the New England Patriots to lose.

I'm not saying that people should not be critical of the team over yesterdays game. I'm critical over some of the things that happened.

1. first drive- this should have been a minimum FG. Tom threw the ball to the screen when he should have thrown it out of bounds.
2. Alge drops the sure TD in the end zone. I had turned away from the TV to start my TD music, I was so sure is was good.
3. Chung dropping the snap on the fake which would have been a 1st down and more.
4. Being 2 scores down and running off 7:45 on the clock. Could have run the same plays using 5 mins.

I think the Patriots beat the Patriots by committing these unforced errors. But it's the over the top reaction by many here since last night that brings the poll question.

Adalus Thomas would like to have a word with you.. How did that turn out? Randy Moss would like to have a word with you also.

That was the turning point in the football game.

The New England Patriots red zone defense needs improvement. Fields goals allowed versus touchdowns allowed would have kept the New England Patriots in the game.

That one in a million catch by Holmes was not the D's fault. They played it well. It reminded me of Tyee's catch.

Thanks for reminding of that catch-Another NY team beats the Pats with a one in a million catch. I'm beginning to think "I'd rather be lucky than good."

I think the thing I see a bunch of Pat fans, including myself, struggle with is sometimes you forget just how hard winning games in the NFL really is. Now that the sh*tty taste of humble pie in my mouth is a day old I can look back and say that was a really fun season of football watching. To me 2009 didn't and doesn't feel like anything like this year, it was a struggle week in and week out. This year had a much better feeling and I can't wait to see what they do next year.
