Gruden can't let go

Can you guys believe that press conference? Completely freaking nutty! It was like a HoF player who played all his seasons for one team retired. All the Raiders alumni. The pre speech video.

I mean come on! All he had to do in the Super Bowl was tell his D what plays were coming up because they didn't change the playbook!

Just watched the press conference and talking heads thereafter. Mark Davis built him up so much, almost God-like. The bar is being set very high. My girlfriend and her family are looking at him as a savior. Should be interesting in the fall when reality sets in.

Regards,
Chris

First Raiders play next season: "The ole Spider 2 Y Banana"

First Press Conference: "Yeah he's a real special guy. One of the reasons he throws the ball so well is he keeps his hands on the ball"

First loss to the Pats: " Yeah man... I'll tell ya.....you can't triple bogy the first hole in golf and expect to win"

In 1992 I loaned a friend 30 bucks. Oh he said he paid me back but I'm tellin ya -- I don't care what anyone says -- that SOB never paid me back. I'll never get over it, never!

I like Gruden I think he is instantly a top 5 coach he has alot of knowledge passion and energy guys want to play for him.

The Raiders have alot of excitement rightfully so with him being back. In any level of Football other than the NFL Brady did fumble.

But the way the rule is written he didn't.

I have zero issue with Gruden being upset that as soon as that game ended he was traded to Tampa Bay and then got to beat his old team in the Superbowl.

Gruden is a special coach and the Raiders will be a team to fear especially when we are Brady or Belichickless.
Every team gets bad calls, all the time.
Some come at crucial moments.

Put the tissue away, and move on. "Rules is rules".

Christ. Any time some team gets a bad call, it's a rule.
Anytime some team gets a bad call against the Pats it's "The league darlings, They bend the rules, Goodell and Kraft are butt buddies..."

Gruden is a professional cheerleader, NFL personality.
Let's see if he can come back from the "couch".

I have no issue with him. I wish him luck.
,But STFU already.
Get in line, behind Shula, Mangina, Tomlin, Irsay, Rex, Dungy, M. Faulk, Warner.....

It really is lonely at the top......

..After champagne, dancing girls, confetti, Lombardi's, rings...

"I'll tell you Sean....That Silver B&R is quite a poster.... he's got a lot of talent... kids got potential... I think he's going to be special"

This wanna-be bad-ass with the perpetually constipated expression needs to devour some prunes, take a good dump, and get over it.

A lot of us still ***** about face guarding in the 2006 AFCCG bad call but not the sole reason we lost,

Face guarding was a rule that literally didn't exist at the time.
The tuck rule was in effect at the time.

HUGE difference

I don't understand Davis's hairstyle at all. With his many millions you'd think he could get scalp surgery or whatever might be needed to look like a genuine adult. But then, the same applies to that cretin in the White House.

Talk about not being able to let go.

He didn’t build anything.

That afc west at the time was horrendous and they were the best of the lot. The team had hall of famers all over it, but as per usual al davis thought he had all the answers buying other teams castoffs likes it was 1980, so he had a mediocre team as a result, hence why they were 9-7 that year. They lost to denver that year and dropped another win as well that year to an inferior opponent. It is his job to make sure his team is not ****y and arrogant, which they were. They walked into the old foxboro stadium with their noses up which is the same pattern all those supposed superior teams had in those days.

He then skipped town and walked into another situation with even more hall of famers waiting for him to coach a team that awful dungy could not get over the top.

And winning 1 sb because you had all of gannon’s signals, does not mean he has a “legacy”.

Also, this creepy infatuation that davis and gruden have for another is just that: creepy

I will say gruden’s $10 dollar haircut is better than davis’s self taught bowl cut.
1996 Raiders -7-9
1997 Raiders 4-12
1998 Raiders w Gruden 8-8
1999 Raiders w Gruden 8-8
2000 Raiders w Gruden 12-4
2001 Raiders w Gruden 10-6

You clearly have emotional venom towards the man and that is clouding your evaluation of his accomplishments.

Just playing to his audience, like the media person he is. One or two season like the last one and he will be back on TV before he gets to play a single hand in Vegas.
Well, thanks to that $100 million contract, he'll have plenty to bet when he goes there.

...

gruden was a .500 coach who is overrated. he just generated a cult following due to his likeability, energy and chucky face.

In today's media-obsessed environment, you just paid Gruden one of the highest compliments that can be paid to anyone.

Forget the fact that they blew two chances to put that game away, the second when he cowardly ran the ball 3 times.

They lost their last 3 games of the season, 2 to non-playoff teams. They could very easily be hosting that game if they took care of business, but they didn't.

It makes me very happy to know this still bothers him over a decade later. I hope it consumes him with rage and he loses his mind on every mundane call next time we play them.

He’s always salty about the call even in the broadcast booth.

It's almost like their success aligns with the arrival of Rich Gannon, Charles Woodson, Eric Allen, and Tyrone Wheatley.

I like Gruden a lot as a commentator but I think he's far better in the booth than on the sidelines.

Was watching a Gruden interview and found out he has been get HC offers for the last 6 years but wanted to be there for his kids and came across as very likeable despite the dated Alfalfa haircut ,

Since there heading to Vegas in 2 years its time Raiders owner Mark Davis gets a anew look.

What's the point of inheriting a billion dollars if you can't spring for Hair Club for Men?

Mark Davis is one odd looking dude.

Hes 95-81, 5-4 in the playoffs and a SB Champ and built another contender in OAK.

No defense intended but the math does work out to "a .500 coach" (rounding down, not up ).
