Greg Bedard: Pats coaching staff already at a troubling crossroads

He has experience true. However Vrabel reported was very aggressive with ownership at titans, and here he would have had to agree to the structures that Mayo had agree too. He also would have had to go through a rebuild like Mayo. Experienced coaches want to win.
I think if we had Vrabel: Maye would be Starting.

As I said the decision to keep bills OL was utter travesty. I have no problem with who they re-signed. Dugger and peppers were top 10 players at thier positions, so was Henry and ownenu. What other solutions would you like Lombardi to ask you to do?
They didn’t keep Bill’s offensive line… that’s a lie.

They signed Okorafor, Jordan, Leverett and relied on Lowe who was a late season desperation trade at the end of last season. He is clearly Wolf’s guy or he would be gone already… he sucked last year.

They also drafted two linemen. Your ability to dance around the truth is obvious, talk about what Wolf didn’t do this season or you’re just protecting him.

Oh bwoy I saw it so Onwenu stays at RT now when it rains it pours for the 24 Patriots what a year.
Wallace wasn’t playing well, so it is guesswork to suggest he would improve.

Maybe…

How about a change at QB. Would that make any difference? Hard to keep lying to the players saying "tough " and " warrior" gives the best chance to win. Kirk cousins put up last night passing yards more than we have on the year.
Maye got sacked 2 times on 8 pass attempts.

You understand how football works… right?

Brissett saw that.

I'm not protecting wolf. He has a job to do and like he said weaponize the offense. He could not do it this offseason because no one wanted to come here. The choice to sign AVP QB Brissett was utter travesty.. Minshew, Flacco heck even zapp at this point would have been better. injury to key players, and Incomplete roster with no margin for error is the 2024 patriots. I will judge wolf starting next off season. As I've said if Drake does not play at any point this season then this season is an all around complete disaster.

Ok wozzy.. right he did. When did he enter the game mop up duty. With 4 minutes left. He still did more in ****ty mop up duty than Brissett did all game.

You certainly are…

We’ve allowed the 2nd most sacks in the league despite passing less than just about everyone. Brissett has the highest sack percentage of his nine year career.

It starts with blocking, I can’t chew your food for you… you have to make an attempt.

4-8, 22 yards, 2 sacks…

Just stop…

Ok chew on this. Since u hate wolf he inherited a BOTTOM roster. Was so bad after 4-13 no one wanted to come here damage was so bad. Unlike you I admit the team sucks. Or was the 4-13 wolf's fault too? Or was 2022 wolf's fault? Was the years of 1st round picks busting out wolf's fault too? If money can't get players here what will?

Ok what was Brissett stats? Stop the BS and put up the starting QB stats.
Brissett has done a great job escaping pressure and extending drives. He’s not a great passer but his only function now is saving Maye from suffering a torn knee ligament or a bulging disk in his back.

You think Wolf has done a masterful job, now you want to place the cherry on top by maiming Drake. That would be perfect…

Show us you can block first, then put Maye out there.

Ok. Right the o line is a problem we know that. What's new? Extending drives????? Maybe your drive to the eye doctor should be extended.

If Maye went in there and shredded his knee, you’d tell us Wolf and Mayo made a great decision. You’d also tell us who to blame…. blame BB. Laughable…

I got a simple request, show us you can block first… even semi adequately. That’s not too much to ask.

Don’t cripple the franchise for years by making stupid desperate decisions now.

Huh? Brandon Coleman? Zero starts. Cornelius Lucas has started all 4 games.

What positions weren’t the problem? Every position on our OL has been bad.

We hired an OC, we drafted a QB in the first round.

We are being told the OC and QB can’t help us because the OL stinks.

I would love to have Biadasz, he could have played G until Andrews went down.
One of many dozens of players we could have pursued who are better than what we are putting on the field. Maybe you are one if those “Ridley didn’t want to come here so what good would upgrading all of the other positions do” guys
Coleman is now getting as many snaps as Lucas and is listed as the starting LT with Lucas behind him on the depth chart. So let's not pretend Lucas was a great signing. He's getting beat out by a 3rd-round rookie. He's also 33 years old and signed for 2.8m...the Pats signed guys with that profile...how that work out?

I haven't been defending Van Pelt, and won't be. Daniels is 2 years older and much more experienced than Maye, so I'm okay with them waiting on Maye. The thing about Daniels was never "is he ready," but only, "how long will he last?" If both were available at #3, not sure which I'd have taken, but if it was Daniels, I'd be pretty happy right now.

The problem with the Pats o-line was at Tackle, not the interior. We had Onwenu and Sow (and Strange) and Mafi (who didn't progress), and drafted a guard. And we had a backup center in place in Jake Andrews (who also plays guard). FA preceded the draft, mostly, and the injuries were mostly post both.

And yes, I would have liked Biadasz anyway, and Tyron Smith.

This is why I give them one more off-season. They're rolling over a lot of money, will have another high pick, and will get back some key players. This year is to see what they have and don't have. If they're not aggressive in FA and draft badly in 25, I promise to be right there with you.

Polk looks like a hit to me, despite his lack of chances. In a decent system with good QB'ing, he'd be lighting it up.

Lucas has started every game, Lucas has played 162 snaps and Coleman 100. Lucas has played more snaps in every game.
The Washington offense has been a hell of a lot better with him than we have been with our LT. News flash: passably competant is a major upgrade.
Both teams drafted a LT in the 3rd, one decided to find someone else who could play there.

The interior OL gags been just as bad as the Ts.

My concern is why would you think he will spend next year if he didn’t this year? And our spending when truly analyzed (cash AND cap, willingness to pay upfront cash on top players rather than higher one time salaries on lesser or older players) our spending over the last 30 years, we do not spent as much as most teams. Belichick devised a cap strategy to hide that disadvantage as best he could but those days are over.

I despise the idea that a team takes a year to “see what they have”. Building an NFL roster is about evaluating players properly, not putting them in the field to see what you have. Why would we not sign better players to make a better roster and give the good players a chance to perform? Do we really need to lose with Friends U, Verdarian Lowe, Raekwon McMillan, Marcus Wilson, Jacoby brissett, Jaylin Hawkins,Daniel Ekuale etc, etc in order to see what they are? Signing players better than those would have zero negative. We just chose not to.

If Poll was capable of lighting it up shouldn’t he be a reason we don’t suck? Even if we have pressure 50% of the time, he could make plays the other 50%?
In 4 games he has 8 catches. One for 21 yards and the others were 7,7,6,5,9,0
I mean I understand there are excuses but in 4 games he has 1 catch of more than 10 yard, us averaging less than 8 a catch and his 4 game numbers project to 34 catches for 259 yards.

I mean NKeal Harry averaged more receiving yards per game in his patriot career than that. So it’s hard for me to see superstar out there right now.

As bad as I want maye to play. I'd rather the "tough " warrior " qb go ahead and keep playing the same play ground offense and keep my franchise QB away from this joke of an offense.
