Roger Goodell: Our officials do an extraordinary job - NFL.com

What a self-righteous moron. Seriously, this is the worst year in officiating in a while across the entire league, with multiple refs crews being reassigned or questioned, and he says this.

Not sure why the owners keep Goodell. He's not hurting the Pats only, he's diminishing the league value with his actions/words, on and off the field. Whatever ref training Goodell's people are doing (trying to do?), is wrong.
Translation of what goodell said......
''Our officials do an outstanding job screwing Tom Brady and the Patriots over''.

The NFL started going down hill the day this clown was elected commissioner.

Reminds me of an old Laurel and Hardy movie. Hardy is at a dance club and puts some coins into a machine to buy some candy. The machine takes the money and doesn't give him any candy. He tells the owner, "this machine is broken." The owner replies: "It's working just fine for me."

Goodell opening his mouth and talking reminds me of "The Bean" scene in Blazing Saddles.

Only more distasteful

You guys crack me up. What would you expect him to say?

What would you expect any CEO to say about a part of their operation?

"yes sir media members. Everything my organization is doing out there is terrible and needs to be corrected. Please go and publish articles now about my incompetence"
How about something along these lines: "We know that this has become an increasingly difficult game to officiate for a number of reasons. Yet, we also know that the performance of some of our officials, both individually and collectively, has at times this season been less than we expect and strive for. We believe that with continued hard work and a desire to improve we will see that improvement. We have acknowledged that some officiating mishaps have cost some teams games this year, and for that we genuinely apologize. We can only promise to do everything in our power to eliminate those types of occurrences in the future. As everyone knows, there is nothing more important that protecting and preserving the integrity of our game."
At least something like that would acknowledge the presence of a problem, rather than describing the job they do as "extraordinary."

Bet the referees really appreciate the shout-out from the very same unprincipled and massively overpaid dunce who locked them out in 2012 and foisted the replacement ref fiasco on fans, players and coaches.

None of that is realistic

Admitting the refs cost some teams a game undermines the league as a whole.

Also, I wasn't suggesting he was a good leader by ignoring the problem. Just that it's par for the course by a bad leader.

It's entirely realistic for a genuinely effective leader. And, Blandino and others have already publicly acknowledged that the officials have cost some teams games already. It's been all over the news.

Technically, they are doing an extraordinary job. They are doing exactly what was asked of them.
