Unless this defense does a complete 180 and becomes something resembling even an adequate unit, we’ll have a lot bigger concerns than Josh Gordon
The defense has played one good game and one poor game. They are playing with many new players and a rookie coordinator. That’s not a 180.

BB should have spent a future # 2 on the junkie since 75% of BB's #2 picks flame out anyway......just sayin

Well, geometrically speaking, it is a 180 (good game, poor game). Hopefully, there will be another 180 for the Lions game. Or 2 right turns.

If we go back to the Super Bowl they’ve played 1 decent game, and 2 historically horrendous game.

You can say that the Super Bowl wasn’t the same team. But they sure looked like it Sunday

I won't try to pretend that the Jax game wasn't a frustrating s--tshow, but it was hardly historically bad. Like, are you claiming it's one of the WORST defensive performances in NFL history?

Did not want, but defer to BB who sees the hot mess at WR up close.
Like the low price.
Concerned he'll take time to adapt and maybe cause a pick or so learning where to be.
I expect him to implode before post season key game.

I would rather have Malcolm Butler.

In this case it’s not injury risk but on top of the normal injury risk we are adding a guy who, if he is what people expect, will become a centerpiece of the offense that is as unreliable as it gets.

I think you are assuming too much when you state that we expect Gordon to become the "centerpiece" of the offense.

I am not expecting the 2013 Gordon. I am only expecting him to come in to be at MINIMUM a deep threat decoy while he learns the playbook. I am not seeing more than 4-5 balls going his way every game from here on out...assuming he plays 14 games.

The center pieces will still be Gronk and Edelman coupled with a running game I think is about to take off (Michel).

Gordon will make things easier...but Brady can pull things out of his arse if he has to like in SB52 without Cooks/Edelman, SB51 without Gronk, and etc... not to mention that in the Gronk-less years we still reached the AFC title game and were within striking distance of winning those games before faltering late.

Dam Give it a rest already the negativity in this thread.

The guy who has been targeted 17 times this season while surrendering the most yardage and most touchdowns in the league?

Secondary looked fine Week 1 when the front 7 didn't let the QB set up a picnic and do whatever he wished like they did with Bortles on Sunday.

Speak for yourself I think Brady is going to be Tempted. Would hate to see that skill set not put to good use.

That makes absolutely no sense.

481 yards without their starting RB, and best receiver.

Historically might be dramatic, but that is abysmal

That makes absolutely no sense.

How

This should cover the bases, but if you have a more nuanced position, state it please
I'm in the 'unwise' column, but not worried about relapse per se, am more worried about the distraction / locker room cancer issues. This guy is the opposite of "The Patriot Way", and the odds of him contributing this season are small. IMHO it's all a waste of time and energy and draft resources that could be spent on a more realistic, more workable approach to filling our needs.

PS: Thank you for correctly following the Ray Lewis poll procedures!

TOO FKING Late, Bro. I already picked Ray L murdered two dudes now this poll won't be as accurate
You are now allowed to change your vote. I am new at this poll-making thing, so sorry for the issues. I should have consulted with experts, such as mosslost!

I wouldn't worry about that necessarily. Most reports I've seen from his coaches and teammates indicate he's a good guy and good teammate, he just can't help himself when it comes to the personal issues. I think the only way he becomes a distraction/cancer is if the coaching staff allows him to get away with things that other players wouldn't, and I don't anticipate that happening.

For a 5th rounder in a year where the team is currently expected to have plenty of draft picks, the team drafted a former first team all pro wide receiver who's 27 years old. There's failure protection in the form of a 7th round pick built into the deal. The team needed a WR and the roster spot used was that of a high potential/likely bust player who's also a wide receiver.

Other than virtue signalling, there's nothing negative to be said about this deal.
