Globe’s McBride: Gronk didn’t make the trip to Chicago

As surprised as I am that he’s still playing now, they all said the same exact thing during the last back injury, too.
Well, his last back injury was blowing a previously “good” disc, not a previously-injured one. So it’s not like he’s proven any “career-ending injury?” worriers wrong in that regard.

The odds of him never playing again obviously increase with each injury to the back, but we’ve heard the career ending chatter before, that’s all I’m saying. It’s tough to gauge how serious this one is. We just don’t have any idea.

It’s very concerning, that’s for sure.

Did he injure it vs KC or during practice?

I believe that he was hobbled for a spell during the game, and he also went up and informed Belichick of something as they were walking away from the sidelines to end the game. It may/may not be related, but I remember thinking that it seemed odd.

Was only a question of time until Team Gronk had to leak something.

Meh. This is about as harmless a "leak" as can happen, if you can even call it that. I wouldn't be shocked if it came from someone within the team and not Gronk's camp.

Is the Bears secondary supposed to be very good this season? Obviously their pass rush is quite nice, but outside of Fuller and Amos, are their other guys quality options?

Pats need gronkowski to play every f"cking game, this team has no margin for error if we're looking for home field.....this team gets smoked at kc

That is the ideal scenario. Unfortunately, there are injuries to manage.

His home town and divisional game, he won’t miss that. I’m fine with him sitting out this week
In the bigger picture of things, I’m fine with him missing through the bye if that’s what he needs to do to get right. However, we don’t know if that would even solve the issue at hand.

I’m very concerned about Gronks health, as a human being he is an amazing athlete, but the way he has been playing his first few years were reckless but that’s why we loved him so much.

He has been dealing with that back problem for a while and ankle issues because now most hits are low.
I wonder how long Gronk is willing to be playing, I don’t want him to see him on a wheelchair or permanently disabled. I have a feeling he will hang it up with Brady eventually.

I’m just hoping he stays healthy beyond football. He will have an amazing career after football because he is a funny guy that everyone likes to be around.

I think you can take that to the bank. I echoed that opinion many times throughout this past offseason. I think they’re pretty much a package duo at this point.

Absolutely .. I've said it and posted it here as well. Their contracts are in line with each other, both will hang it up together.

So why was Brady reportedly pissed then that he didn't get an extension but only incentives in August ?
