I could be wrong but I do not believe a cut players medical records are available to any team considering a waiver claim, and I believe waiver claims are subject to physicals. You have to understand the nature and treatment of blood clots. He was cleared to resume practicing a few weeks ago and by all accounts looked and felt well.
All of a sudden, they cut him with an NFI distinction. That strongly suggests that something happened in the interim, most likely another blood clot. Standard of care for treatment of a second clot is usually LIFELONG anticoagulation (blood thinners). You can’t play football on blood thinners. This clearly was not an issue about his on the field potential as a player. It’s possible, if not likely, that the Jets did have all of the private medical information when they made the claim. We’ll probably know something more over the next few days.
