Garcia cut!

You have to understand the nature and treatment of blood clots. He was cleared to resume practicing a few weeks ago and by all accounts looked and felt well.

All of a sudden, they cut him with an NFI distinction. That strongly suggests that something happened in the interim, most likely another blood clot. Standard of care for treatment of a second clot is usually LIFELONG anticoagulation (blood thinners). You can’t play football on blood thinners. This clearly was not an issue about his on the field potential as a player. It’s possible, if not likely, that the Jets did have all of the private medical information when they made the claim. We’ll probably know something more over the next few days.
I could be wrong but I do not believe a cut players medical records are available to any team considering a waiver claim, and I believe waiver claims are subject to physicals.

Meant to write that the Jets did NOT have access to the records. Oops. Fixed it.

Why not nfi list him see if he can recover and be a asset down the road.
If he plays good or great football for the Jets ill be pissed at the teams decison.
The team doesn’t get to unilaterally decide that a player is going on NFI, especially since NFI players don’t even necessarily get paid. Based on that one Instagram post, it appears that Garcia has been cleared by a doctor, which would be the first step toward arguing against the Patriots putting him on NFI. Obviously, the result of his Jets physical will give us some idea of what’s going on too.

Zach Orr is an example of a player who was cleared by an independent doctor but not by teams. Kyle Love was released after he refused to spend a year on NFI with a medical issue that the Jaguars would later let him play with. AJ McCarron successfully argued (years after the fact) that he should not have been eligible for NFI. Tre Jackson was claimed off waivers by the Rams but then failed his physical with them. Those are all cases that could be somewhat relevant here.

So the Jet's Doctors know something that the Patriot's doctors do not?

Magic???

Exactly!!!

The later follow-up I read about Kyle Love (from Reiss, I think) was that he wasn't adhering to his medically-prescribed diet or taking the prescribed meds to control his diabetes on schedule. Apparently the Pats had given him a couple of warnings before offering him the option of going on IR until he could get things under control. He refused and was waived.

Yall still crying for Garcia now that he is a Jet?

Y’all still cryin’ that the Patriots damn won 2 of the last 4 Supahbowels??

Supahbowels
Just a reminder: Too much whiskey + a large serving of ice cream before bed = supahbowels the next morning.

Pro tip for the ages.

No it isn't: Garcia was waived not because he wasn't good enough to play for the NEP,
Sure that’s exactly what it means. If his health issues make him ineligible to play then that is the reason he is not good enough to make the roster. If you can’t play you aren’t any good to me.
If at some point in the future he overcomes that reason and sees the field for another team that has nothing to do with this decision today.

I honestly think we would be better off if we just trade all of our picks for like two high profile players in the draft and then just role with undrafted free agents.

2 first round picks or a first and high second every year would probably have more impact than these trade downs.

IOW, what Cleveland and Buffalo do every year.
