Free Agent Signings around the League

We can still have a Verner and Talib or Verner and Revis secondary.
I think The board would explode.

There will always be Chicken Littles. There will always be those who cry and whine because we didn't sign the one or two Day One (I guess I mean HOUR ONE) players that signed contracts that we think are reasonable. The rest of us will wait, and reserve the right to complain if we still have holes going into camp.

SOME THOUGHTS
1) We indeed have lots of players who were injured last year. This means that there will likely be improvement over 2013 even only a few come back strong.
2) We indeed have 10 free agents wo need to be replaced (only Talib and Edelman are considered major issues). This is a very manageable number.
3) We have about $15M of cap room and could easily free up another $10M.
4) We do need additions at TE, DE and SS. It is likely that we will draft a TE or two.

For those for whom the Belichick is just not good enough, the sky is falling. For the rest of us, this offseason is business is usual, with fewer issues/holes than most (certainly less than last offseason).

You put Belichick up on this pedestal as if he is flawless and he is not. The reality is that $7.5 million is sitting in a holding cell at Bristol County Correctional Facility. Everyone will give the how the Patriots were supposed to know; and I think well here is a guy who was allegedly pulling drive by shootings in Boston, so obviously he was not keeping it low key. Therefore, I do not give them the token pass that you and the rest give for that misjudgment.

Second 95% of the personnel acquisition decision we have made in the past five years has absolutely failed –

- Jonathan Fanene
- Brandon Lloyd
- Chad Johnson
- Albert Haynesworth
- Shaun Ellis
- Will Allen
- Adrian Wilson
- Danny Amendola
- Greg Salas
- Michael Jenkins
- Jabar Gaffney
- Donte Stallworth
- Anthony Gonzalez
- Jake Ballard
- Steve Gregory
- Tommy Kelly

Third look at the wasted draft picks that are no longer on this roster or if they are on the roster they are fringe players –

- Ras-I Dowling
- Jermaine Cunningham
- Jake Bequette
- Ron Brace
- Pat Chung
- Tavon Wilson
- Darius Butler
- Aaron Hernandez
- Brandon Spikes
- Taylor Price
- Brandon Tate

I am not crying over spilt milk here MG, you just think that because Tom Brady goes out there and wills this team to victory week in and week out that Belichick does this grand job constructing the roster, but that could not be any further from the truth, the past five years have been extremely poor.

They're really keeping their powder dry, I don't blame the more jumpy for going crazy at this point.

How many signings have really taken players we coveted at the price. I'll need confirmation on ward's contract, but that's the only one i see so far. Lots of dollars for players that are good but not great, overpriced, or not fits to our system or needs so far, I'd say.

Agree with this. Even with Ward it would be 6m in cap space we couldn't use on a corner/pass rusher/Edelman (replacement)

Plenty of good players still out there, just have to be patient

I wish you would run the team. We would be close to the SB every year...or even make the playoffs. I miss making the playoffs

Who would you rather have making the decisions?

You have to give it to the Broncos. they are really loading that team with talent.

They draft a WR in the 1st and they could have just as good an offense as last year while plugging some holes in their D.

Who would you rather have making the decisions?

Someone who can look into the future and predict that a player is going to murder someone, based on a drive by shooting that nobody knew he committed. Obviously.

They got 1 guy so far in FA...you know how many holes they have?

What is his success rate on personnel decision over the past 3-4 seasons? UFAs, trades, draft picks. Put all the names together with the exception of UDFAs then tell me what percent are good and what percent are bad.

I am not saying Belichick needs to be replaced, I am saying that his current approach needs to change, it may have worked for him in the early 2000s but it is not working anymore.

Yikes. Well the cup is empty philosophy is certainly interesting. But you have to mention Chris Jones, Sealver Siliga, Michael Buchanon Jamie Collins Duron Harmon look like beasts. We might Have something with mark Harrison.
Logan Ryan has a high upside.
Allen looks like he could punt here for 10 years.

Well then who has been consistently doing better?

Tough being a Jets fan.....ooops

Cleveland signed Hawkins to offer sheet

They do not have to look to the future they could have their world-class CIA level security team dig into the player and see what type of people he is associating with. Hernandez was dancing on tables at Rumor Tuesday with a gun in his waistband, do not pretend that he was at church, and took a wrong turn all of a sudden. Ignorance is not an acceptable excuse.

Needless to say you have ignored every other poor decision and decided to focus solely on the one that you could somewhat excuse. I am not bashing Belichick because I do not like him, heck he is one of my all-time idols but his decision making in recent years has been suspect.

Monty beisel says hello.

They better sign mack and scott chandler. Sign those two and I'll forgive. And edelman.

I assume you want the Pats to take the same approach as the Dolphins - sign all them high priced free agents. Will you complain when the Pats get the same results?
