To classify it as luck would insinuate that we as fans have absolutely no knowledge of the game and or strategy to even formulate a logical opinion...which I would disagree with.
So because Bill is Bill and we are merel3y only fans we can't even merely discuss things like........
1.) If an onside kick against Philly was the right move?
2.) if electing to kick in OT against hte Jets was the right move?
3.) if the entire gameplan against the Dolphins in the season finale was the right move?
5.) If letting go of Jamie Collins and/or Chandler Jones was the right move
....because Bill has so much more knowledge than us.
Please, this is a fan forum, we're supposed to have these discussions. If not, what are we doing here?
It's ok to ask questions about those things, but the problem is that it's always done in hindsight after we already know the end result
If the Saints in their SB against the Colts failed to recover the onside kick they opened the second half with, they would have ultimately lost the SB and everyone would be saying what a ridiculously idiotic call that was
Sometimes you need to have a set of stones on you and play super aggressively.. sometimes it works out and you're declared a genius, with women throwing their panties at you everywhere you go (at least how I picture it going down, don't tell my wife), but sometimes it doesn't work out and you look like an idiot
There isn't a person alive or dead that has coached perfectly their entire career, or made the correct decision with every player on their roster... there are successes and failures in the ultra competitive business of football and I feel good knowing that we have one of the greatest football minds in the history of the game coaching our team and making those decisions..
So when they work out, I'll take a xanax and celebrate... and when they don't work out, I'll take 10 xanax, 10 shots of whiskey and cry with my blankey for a night, then pick myself up and move on with my life.. because I know that BB hits and has successes much more than he misses or has failures
Im ALMOST over the Collins trade.. this loss didn't exactly help me move on. . and I can understand his long term reason for doing it, but I still don't understand the short term.. I feel like having a player like Collins, even if you had to change his roll and just have him rush the passer would have been more valuable to the team and it's chances of winning a 5th superbowl compared to the late 3rd round (or possibly 4th rounder) that we got from Cleveland.. that's how I feel and it bothers me a lot, but I know that if I had a Genie Lamp and could pick anyone to be the coach/GM of this team, I would use my wish on a mountain of coke and hookers (don't tell the wife) because there is no one else id want other than BB
