The world is against Zappe.Crabgrass?!? Really? If he cannot see over crabgrass, he really is too short.

I can’t think of anyone who is actively rooting for the kid to fail.The world is against Zappe.
It’s a tough task. Because Heineken for example has shown a level of competence over a lot more reps than Zappe. But being more known reduces the chance that he could be a hidden star.I'd put him in the top third. Not a lot of "great" backups out there currently, given a lot of the shake ups in recent years. That in and of itself has been interesting when you look at how a lot of guys who have risen and fallen.
I'd say Zappe's probably better than a high percentage of the #2s out there right now. Again, Taylor Heineke is the guy who keeps popping in my head there. But without looking at every name, aside from who I mentioned, I'm not sure who else would rank ahead of him.
@Tunescribe knock it off.
Are you getting hit with a bunch of drive by's?
It's so ridiculous.I can’t think of anyone who is actively rooting for the kid to fail.

Its already over.The media is trying to hard to fabricate this "QB battle!" they talked about it so much on felger and mazz when I tuned in for 10 minutes.
but fact remains Zappe JUST took his first snaps with the first team yesterday. and it was only for a couple plays. There is no real QB battle if one guy is consistently playing with/against the #1's and the other guy is with the #2's.
Until something changes in season Mac is your QB#1 and Zappe is your backup
Agreed. And like any QB2 he should take at least a few snaps with the starting offense. Wouldn't want him to enter a game if needed completely cold never working with them at all.The media is trying to hard to fabricate this "QB battle!" they talked about it so much on felger and mazz when I tuned in for 10 minutes.

Yeah that's how I see it. 1 good game out of 4. 3 games where he didn't outright suck. That's fine for a backup. Totally unrelated but in that 1 "good game" I believe his passing numbers also led the league that week in YAC by his recievers. The one to Jonnu was the big one.It’s a tough task. I’d say in that example Zappe hasn’t shown me he is as good as Heineke but he also could possibly be better, so a chance at better than blah is more enticing then blah but could also be worse.
Judging Zappes okay so far I say game 1, meh, he was a rookie being held back with 15 pass attempts but didn’t throw up on his shoes. Game 2, again, limited but ok. Game 3 was good. Game 4 was awful.
A good first showing for a 4th round rookie but a long way to go to be a capable starting QB. The best part about Zappe is hope.
His release is still too low, and it is something he'll have to keep working on. At the same time, Zappe's a second-year player and he's still miles ahead of other guys we've seen at this point and he's had a solid start. So aside from that, not much to say negative about him. He's been playing well so far.Its already over.
Zappe is 2 inches shorter and cant see over the DL which is 2 inches taller than Jones.

First off, the Pats QBs are wearing red no contact jerseys. The NE defense is not coming after anybody like real NFL action. Some practices were with no pads at all. That has not prevented the Yahoo's from drooling over how well things are going thus far.
It is PFF, so you gotta take their numbers with a grain of salt. But they say that Mac Jones has the third fewest INTs that are deemed the QB's fault with 38.5%. That means they say 61.5% of his INTs were not his fault.
Again, I am puting the caveat that it is PFF.
