Dishonest Dean Blandino leaving NFL, going in to television

This is a serious problem. It just isn't fair to continue to drain the top executive talent from the Jets. The League has got to stop preying on them. Take someone from the other bastions of excellence, like the Colts or Redskins. Spread the pain a little bit.

Why would you want the real job when you can make a ton of money at some network without any real consequence to always making the wrong call...

I heard Dodger Goodell (no relation) will be taking over...nothing to worry about...

Mike Carey seems like a possible replacement, though he may not want to give up the TV gig either.
Mike Carey has already (involuntarily) given up his TV gig.

Yeah cause he was always wrong. Having him as VP of officiating doesn't seem like the right direction to go in. He was a pretty poor ref from what I recall as well.

So the NFL decides they will make officiating calls away from the field, in a far away office building. With said decisions to be made by somebody that has never worked as a referee at any level.

Can't blame Blandino for bolting from that upcoming train wreck.

The frat boy is gone and that's good news ... pending who they replace him with. I hope it's a seasoned former head referee who knows what he's doing.
Hearing it'll be Jimmy Fallon. But on the flip side he won't be able to air his dumbass superlatives anymore. "Most likely to eat a ham sandwich!"

Troy needs to scour the country for the next Goodell sock puppet.

Jimmy Fallon is a Pats fan, so Roger would never give him the job.

In the "lie with dogs and you end up with fleas" category, apparently everyone in the league office is shocked that Blandino is leaving. Seems he mustn't have been forthright about his plans until he had something else lined up. Integrity, indeed.

NFL caught off guard by Dean Blandino’s departure

There's a large pool of New Yorkers that would take the job, they'll have no problem filling the role.

Obviously, the New England Patriots, their players, management, administration, and us, the fans, do not qualify as belonging to the "entire football community".

Perhaps, because we know, understand and employ the term "respect".

Going into television? Too bad as I was hoping he would go somewhere else. Somewhere south. Somewhere hot....

Wouldn't politics be the more logical next step for someone of questionable integrity?
