Debate Brady vs Belichick?

Unless your one of those who wants to pay anything to make sure Brady retires a Pat I don’t see the problem going year to year once a player hits 40. Hats off to Tom for the year he’s having but can anyone think of another player who’s played at this kind of level at his age?

Oh... this is one of those Brady is so good he doesn't need blocking, defense or special teams conversations.

Can anyone think of a player who won the MVP at 40 years old? Can anyone think of a player who deserve the benefit of the doubt more than Brady?

Yeah real analysis like "Durr Bill draft Brady so Bill better" is what is needed.

Brady deserves MVP consideration. With that said look around, it's a kinder gentler age for QB's, they barely get grass stains on their uniforms anymore. They're all playing until 40 or beyond; Brees, Ben... and < these guys all straddled the old rules. The next generation, the Mahomes and the rest could play to 50.

I'd also add Tom is playing on a super team with the greatest collection of weapons in pro football history, so its not surprising what he's doing. Jameis Winston led the NFL in passing yards and TD's with these weapons last year and he didn't have Gronk, AB or a great O-Line.

Tom is still great... what he is doing in Tampa is not representative of what he'd do in NE, or on just about another team for that matter.

The Pats moved on from Tom for financial reasons, they overextended themselves from 2014 on and needed to reset the cap.

They need a new QB in 2021, the future is ahead of them.

Brett Favre played at a very high level for Minnesota in his age 40 season. And subsequently fell off the cliff the next season.

With Brady we’re taking his age 43 season. Again he’s playing great but no player is going to get the benefit of the doubt over Father Time since it hasn’t been done before at 43.

So then we should give Kraft credit because he hired Bill. Stupid logic.
Kraft didn’t coach belichick on how to do his job.

Yes, Kraft gets credit for hiring Bill.

Bill gets credit for hiring all the players, coaches and football operations... good or bad.

BB not only drafted Tom, he chose to roster four QB's going forward and moved him up the depth chart quickly. The first year Tom started he completed 63% of his passes, averaged 190 passing yards per game and threw 18 TD's to 12 INT's... or almost as many picks as TD's. The notion that he was some world beater as a sophomore is fan fiction, total re-imagining of history. He grew into the GOAT largely because of his surroundings, just as the team benefitted from his contributions.

They wouldn't have won in 2001-2004 without Tom... or Vinatieri, or Seymour... hell maybe they don't win in 2001 without Patrick Pass and Wiggins being clutch down the stretch in not one but two playoff game drives, one of which was the Super Bowl.

We've had to endure a season of watching horrid QB play with Cam under center, but let's not lose our heads.

Ultimately there was going to be a year of pain when it ended one way or another. There was no avoiding that because there would always be a dead money hit and cap pushed forward to deal with.
It seems to have ended up worst case due to opt outs, etc, but had we brought in a better QB and gone 10-6 (which would definitely have happened with an average qb) and missed the playoffs is it really any different?

He also personally coached Brady.

So then yes give Bill all there credit. Brady would be washing cars right now if it wasn't for his savior.

If Bill was responsible for Brady, how come Rohan Davey, Kliff Kingsbury, Matt Cassel, Kevin O’Connell, Ryan Mallett, Jimmy G, Jacoby Brissett haven't played at the same level as Brady?

You don’t realize what a quantum leap in logic this is? A bad player is still a bad player.

Jimmy, Cassel, Brissett... their careers would have a completely different trajectory if they played on the best team in the league for twenty years. They obviously wouldn’t be as good as Tom, but still could have been very good.

Andrew Luck is retired right now because of the horrid O-Lines he played behind with Ryan Grigson mucking things up at GM.

Or do you really believe Tom is six times better than Brees, Ben or Rogers and that’s why he has so many more rings? Good grief...
