Deandre Hopkins Visiting Patriots Next Week

Parker is good, but he's a high end #2. I think the question with our Roster is that there is no clear #1 receiver. we have alot of #2 guys in Parker/Juju/Bourne....but there isn't one guy there who teams "gameplan for" or draws coverage. ever since gronk retired and Edelman lost a step our issue has been teams just go man 1-on-1 and no one can get open..

You sign Hopkins and the depth chart really settles down. All of a sudden, hopkins/juju/bourne are facing lesser defenders/single coverage.

when we had Gronk/Edelman, teams had to scheme to try and take them away. which in turn let guys like Chris hogan put up big numbers. You add hopkins to a team with juju/bourne/parker and Gesicki and Hunter Henry with Rhamondre Stevenson out the backfield thats suddently an offense that is really tough to defend..

we just have no tackles...thats the only problem there.

Except Trent Brown, Calvin Anderson, Riley Reiff, Sidy Sow and McDermott… beyond them we have no tackles.

You list those players with a rolling eyes emoji like that strengthens your point. Everyone reading your posts thinks you are lost. If you can't state that OT is the biggest weakness on the 2023 Patriots, you are still standing at the station and the train has left.

It's been an issue (beating man) since Brady's last year.
What gets me is we in 2001 Brady, David Patten and Troy Brown, Wigs, Antwain Smith and Kevin Faulk. Guess what, they got open? Is it really the Goat that was the defining piece or was it Superior route running? I'll answer, The GOAT.

It was a different era. They ran to set up the pass. Defenses were able to get rough with WR’s/TE’s, etc. which was why teams needed to establish the run first to set up play action. Dropping back to pass like Brady did in his later years wouldn’t have worked pre rule changes with that personnel.

In addition, they had a defense in 2001 that was keeping them in the game. Aside from the Raiders weather game, the offense needed the defense to allow them to hang around as their offense was fairly putrid.

yeah, lets ignore that the Chiefs had Travis Kelce taking away double coverage...
So we're talking about WR's right up until the point we're not?

The #1 weapon in Kansas City is Andy Reid's scheme.

Gesicki is a better athlete than Kelce is, if Reid had Gesicki he'd be doing what Kelce does... probably better.

So our strategy for 2023 without Dhop is our better defense will keep us in low scoring games and we will figure out ways to win? I assume no d-Hop. Now with Jack Jones virtually gone this year (assume 1 year suspension) we are back to square one again. Corners maketh the team i.m.o. in this pass happy league. Pat's hardo's will not like this future I see...lol.. don't care.

I’m not sure you know what rhetorical means.

Probably not.

language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect on its audience, but often regarded as lacking in sincerity or meaningful content

We can agree that my posts commonly lack meaningful content?

Reid was looking pretty stale in Philly which led to his firing. The KC offense had at one point Hunt at RB, Hill at WR and Kelce at TE, but we’re not a threat in the AFC with Smith at QB. Mahomes unlocked a new level for Andy Reid. In fact, he revitalized his career from a retread to the best HC in the NFL within the last several years.

Mahomes is the reason that Andy Reid has SB wins…..Andy Reid is an average at best coach…..Brady also made Arians and Leftwich look good…..and a SB winning coach

Sorry man…that’s my domain.
Both of you are selling yourselves short. Anyone who participates and has an opinion is fine. Yes, anyone. We’re discussing a team we like. Everyone is going to see things differently. This isn’t a contest on who’s the guru of the NFL on an anonymous message board.

I'm sorry, but what does that make Belichick? Andy Reid was 130-93-1 with the Eagles, and he's 53-27 with the Chiefs. He has coached two different teams to the super bowl. You can say Reid is an average coach without Mahomes (which I just disproved), but the reality is Bill is the one who is average without Brady.
