Well 33M AAV is a nice and tidy 10% of the cap...well worth it for a CB1. I'd do a deal right now and give him a BIGGER guarantee and more years.... in 3-4 years 33M AAV will be a bargain if the cap keeps growing like it has....

Maye is gonna be another problem....he will most definitely be the highest paid QB in NFL history this time next year, IMO. I hope we do a deal for Maye BEFORE the Bears and Commanders do for Williams and Daniels....

He’s not an FA though. Not good business sense for the Pats to look at this as in “3-4 years 33M AAV will be a bargain”. His current deal ends after the 2027 season and we could franchise tag him in 2028. Gonzo doesn’t hold all the cards.

Yes, but he is only going to be paid peanuts this year and next year....relative to the average CB1 in the NFL.

And by doing a deal now....we can incorporate 2026 & 2027 cap numbers to average out the massive extension amounts/signing bonus proration.

Paid peanuts but will get a huge upfront payment and guarantees. And he’s missed 1/3 of his games with the Pats. Like I said, he doesn’t hold all the cards.
