Ceasars: "Patriots roster outside of cornerback 'one of the worst in the NFL'"

What if Tom was the problem? What if Stid lights it up? What if Harry's development is no longer held back by crabby Tom Brady?

We are gonna learn a lot this year.
If you told me at the end of 2020 Stid would throw for 4k yds, 60% 26tds 90Qb rating (Toms 2019 stats) and the NEP would be 12-4 I would take it in a heartbeat.

I'm not sure some of you fully grasp how this gambling thing works. Caesar's - and the other gambling shops - have set an over/under line for RIGHT NOW and explained their rationale behind it. Gambler's are betting the current lines. After the draft the over/under lines will change and they'll continue to change through training camp and up until the first game of the season.

Some of you are looking at a current snapshot in time by the casinos and acting like it's written in stone for the rest of the season.

And some of us know exactly how it works and the current win O/U number does not in fact align with where the roster is right now (weak on paper) or the coming schedule (brutal). The current number tells me, as someone who actively bets football and does okay, that The Man doesn't want any appreciable action against it. Hence the plus .500 number being accompanied by negative comments.

What I find interesting is that the roster is currently, supposedly, one of the worst in the league, yet they set the line at just over more than 50% of their games being won, despite having a pretty tough schedule. How do they beat at least half of these difficult teams with such a bad roster? Which of these rosters are currently "worse" than the apparently bottom-of-the-barrel Pats roster?

Texans
Chiefs
Chargers
Rams
Broncos
Raiders
Cardinals
49ers
Ravens
Seahawks
Bills x2
Jets x2
Dolphins x2

I think everyone one of us would. Well, there's some folks in here that want them to fail so they can say it was all Tom, but I digress.

For Tom it was the tale of two 1/2s. First 8 games. Last 9.

I forget which thread I published them under but the are cliff-worthy.

I think there was a lot to his 2019 campaign. Line, TE, young WRs, his health no FB... it's been talked about ad nauseam here. I think, I hope I should say, that 8 games in next year, we are all going to be talking about how good Stid looks.

So Caesar's has them as the worst roster in the league but their win total is at 8.5? Either one of these things is not like the other or they think BB is God

That was BB's reputation during the early dynasty, that he could win with anybodies/nobodies. On TV they'd joke that half the team could get lost before the game and Bill would put a workable roster together on the spot using hot dog vendors and parking lot assistants.

If most of the players are terrible/average, why is there no cap room?

That’s a question a lot of people would like to know. They’ve historically not had a lot of big contracts, yet cap strapped a lot.

$25.6M in dead money
1/4 of the total cap space dedicated to 4 players (Gilmore, Thuney, Edelman, Hightower)

I'm going with because Caesar's has no clue.

What if the greatest player of all time was the problem? What if two rookies who couldn’t figure out how to run routes were held back by the GOAT? What if Brady is responsible for our TE’s not knowing how to block? What if Stid “only NFL pass was a pick six” is better than the GOAT?

We’re gonna learn a lot this year.

I am going to wait to get to the season start before making a prediction.

I believe BB will do the best he can to put a competitive team on the field.

BTW, there aren't any guarantees that Tampa Bay will make the playoffs because Brady is there. So who guarantees the Pats will be awful because he left?

I know it's fun to predict.

Go BB & Pats

If the Patriots are considered a bad football team this coming season without Brady then I would guess they weren’t much better with him. Brady at 43 was never the difference between 14-2 and 5-11.

Sorry if I've missed any conversations about this.... the dead money should all be cleared up after this year right? Mainly the TFB and AB charges?

Cap rebuilding season.

And some of us know exactly how it works.
Well, since you were one of, if not the top poster in the Gambling Thread, you were not of the posters I was thinking of.

Getting strong 2013 hot takes vibes from this post.

MAYBE JOSH BOYCE IS A SUPERSTAR IF JIMMY G IS THE ONE THROWING THE BALL?!

Cap rebuilding season.

I think so. They supposedly will have $100M in space in 2021 and will be able to improve very quickly.

I wouldn’t say they’re in “cap hell” since it’s only really one season where it’s tight.

And I was not taking exception to your post but rather using it as a jumping off point to flesh out mine. So if I at all gave that impression please accept my apologies as it was not my intent.
BTW, you've got good recall I've had pretty good seasons the past couple of years but I still remain mindful what goes up comes down

Yup, we are. We are gonna learn that the 43 year old is still the GOAT, or, we are gonna learn that he's a shadow of the GOAT at 43.

The question I am gonna ask is Stid 80% of Tom Brady, circa 2019.
